About Sumo
Sumo is a multiplayer physics-based party game for up to 4 players, where players use their wits, special abilities, and spherical physique to wrestle your human or AI opponents over the edge of irrationally hazardous Arenas. You have only one objective - Be the last sphere standing.
Sumo was originally a small-priced product and was a learning project for our team. It did not have commercial interest, and we ceased development on it in 2019. Since it isn't commercially viable, I decided to make the game free for everyone - I'd rather it be a possible bit of entertainment for some if possible!

Each of Sumo's spherical combatants is deceptively maneuverable -- dashing and jumping to juke attacks and hazards alike. Do your best to snap up Boost Orbs to power up your devastating ability, before your round rivals do.
Each Arena in Sumo offers creative ways to send your opponents careening off the edge. But beware, all Arenas continuously collapse, leaving only one player victorious. In Sumo, look forward to unceremonious ring-out by such things as:
Pressurized pipe-blasts of the WaterWorks!
Incoming meteors in Sumo in Space!
Runaway trains in Railway Rumble!
... but be sure to knock your friends into all of them!
The longer you survive, the more points you get! The first to reach the point goal wins. In Sumo, ties cannot be tolerated, and are settled with the white-knuckle, rapid-fire Sudden Death round!

Gameplay takes place over various "unusual" arenas like train tracks or floating platforms, but the objective is the same, push your opponents out of the ring. This was made as a demo/proof of concept project for an emerging (and failed) game development team, more than a serious game intended to succeed on Steam. This is a dead PvP game. Why did "Sumo" fail? Time for a video game autopsy. [i]The vast majority of PvP focused games on Steam are failures.[/i] Most fail because developers assume just because the game project code completes a successful build, the game will instantly and magically "go viral" just for existing. Игра "Sumo" — увлекательный симулятор борьбы с простым и интуитивным управлением. Геймплей сосредоточен на стратегии: нужно толкнуть противника за линию, используя вес и баланс. Графика яркая, анимация динамичная, звуки добавляют атмосферы. Подходит для всех возрастов, идеально для быстрой игры в компании. Повторяемость высока благодаря разнообразным режимам и возможностям настройки. Минус — отсутствие глубокого сюжета, но для легкой развлекательной игры это несущественно. Рекомендую!
