"Super Space Shooter Arena" is kind of a tech demo, I guess, or a high school assignment, I'm not sure which. It's a ploddingly slow SpaceWar! ripoff with pixel "art" and uh... not much else going for it at all. In fact this is so boring I'd rather watch dry paint dry. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the game all-time peak player count was only ONE player. I thought this was gonna be a clone of a Namco arcade game based on the screenshots but I'm not sure if the games broken or not. Nothing happens when the health hits 0 nor is there any knock back from gunfire.
