You hope this time will be different.

Is this VR? Will this be VR?
MCD is a regular, non-VR title. It’s designed for conventional screens and longer play sessions. If you played and enjoyed SUPERHOT VR, you’ll have a blast playing the original SUPERHOT and MCD as well

Man. I tried so hard to enjoy this. The gameplay is still fun... but where's the intrigue? Where's the story? This isn't even nostalgia blindness for the original, it's just out-right missing what drew me into the original. Maps are a repeating slog of randomly spawning enemies, and now you have health? There's nothing particularly fun about the maps either. Part of the fun of the OG SUPERHOT was figuring out the puzzle that the maps put before you. But nothing about the maps is handcrafted with care, and the level layouts are just... meh. I found myself running around trying to find the enemy often. Meanwhile, the enemy was right behind me beating me with a baseball bat. I just wasn't impressed. It's SUPERHOT, but it's missing the soul imo. (I refunded this).2 found this helpful
I don't see any reason to play this over the first SUPERHOT. I think the devs were so focused on this MORE theme that they lost sight of some of the aspects that made the original fun. Due to the randomness, you no longer get the dynamics of trying different strategies in a level, or "solving the puzzle", in a way. Also, levels get repetitive very fast, even with the random spawns. The game still controls and looks great, and like, there are some cool new power-ups and ideas... But it kind of feels like more content for the sake of more content? For me MCD got boring rather quickly, and I don't think finishing the main levels was worth it. Maybe if you really like the whole SUPERHOT concept, this could be for you? I thought the first one was rather unique and cool, but this one was just not for me.1 found this helpful
The puzzle aspect is completely gone and difficulty has been replaced with repitition. The "levels" are just a series of randomized endless maps where you have to kill a certain number of enemies. If you die, you have to restart the whole series. Later levels just get longer, eventually taking 20+ minutes each.
Doesn't have the same intrigue or charm or handcrafted effort of the original, but still a fun continuation with cool weapons and enemy types. It's hardly really a puzzle game anymore, much more roguelike. Gets a little boring
fun game 👍
