READY TO GET LOST IN A WILD ADVENTURE? ;)
In Swaps and Traps, you'll find yourself in a unique puzzle experience with cursed keys and moving screens. Divider will swap, rotate and even flip your world.
• • •A Hat That Changes Everything
Mike is a decent man. An ordinary one, you might say. But he is no pushover when it comes to capturing the enchanted hat from his nemesis, Divider. You see, Divider’s hat changes everything, including the position and direction of the screen. Mike’s only hope is to collect the cursed keys, and catch Divider through different locations and traps.
Swaps and Traps is a fun little game, which will challenge your platformer skills as well as your eyes and necks. As you collect a key in a scene, you also trigger the main trap of the game. Portions of your screen will swap, turn and even flip horizontally and vertically to give you one unique adventure.

What Steam players say

Players praise Swaps and Traps as a clever puzzle-platformer with a unique screen-swapping mechanic that escalates nicely in complexity and creativity, delivering fair but challenging gameplay with inventive level design that keeps things fresh. The game's main strengths are its gradually increasing difficulty, short levels that avoid frustration, and solid execution of its core concept, though some note the visuals and music are unremarkable and wish for options to silence repetitive death dialogue.
I dig puzzle-platformers, but what excited me even more about this fun game was the fact that it was deveoped by the people I know. A long time ago, in a game jam (a game development event) far, far away, my team happened to be working at the desk next to TeamTrap's, the team that developed Swaps and Traps. The devs probably don't know about it, but it was exciting for me to watch them literally from the corner of my eye, while they were working hard on the very early prototype of Swaps and Traps. It looked like something I'd enjoy playing. I didn't know them by then but I got to meet their awesome team later on. Years went by, and one day, they decided to take the game mechanics of the early prototype and turn it into a more sophisticated platformer. I played it around the time it was released, first quarter of 2018, and this review I'm writing now is mostly based on my notes and what I remember from the experience. Swaps and Traps is a challenging platformer with a unique mechanic. The way you see the world changes as you make progress. Sounds corny, right? But I mean literally. You need to collect some keys, and every time you pick one up, a part of your viewport is distorted.…9 found this helpful
The game has a unique premise as swapping parts of the screen as you obtain keys and become closer to finish the level. It starts with simple rotations and slowly getting weirder and harder. Yes this game is hard but somehow manages to be always fair to the player. Shorter levels help you to not get frusturated to quit the game, you got frusturated just enough to make you want to finish the level in spite of the game :). As i said earlier screen swaps starts simple and gradually becomes more and more imaginative and interesting. Coupled with lots of different traps spread around the levels, the game keep supplying you with different, new and fun challenges all through out the game. I definitely recommend this game to anyone looking for small overlooked gem lying around in Steam.6 found this helpful
This game lives up to what the trailer promises: Super Meat Boy with extreme interface screw. The camera swaps provide most of the challenge in most levels, which I consider to be a good thing. Navigating the shifted views is even harder when you try for the (tough but fair) par time on every level. The visuals and music are nothing to write home about, and I could do with an option to mute the villain's comments when you die. But it delivers exactly what it promises, executed well.4 found this helpful

FOR A GAME that no one knows about; it surely is a hidden gem in a bunch of many games! IT GETS HARDER EACH LEVEL which is an uncommon feeling with modern games! SURELY recommend buying THE GAME ON SALE! TOTALLY WORTH IT! GOOD to play and pass a controller around with a friend over!
