Sheesh... Just one level and i disklike it already. Which pains me, as this is obviously the first project of a young game dev team. But that's why a lot of beginner mistakes ruin what could be an easy-going experience. For a game that presents itself as a fast-paced, fun action shooter it's puzzling why the characters move so sluggish. While the under-water scenario explains it on an idea-level, it simply doesn't work, as it makes reacting to all the action quite hard. No wonder they had to add a teleport mechanic. Also you're drowned (pun intended) in powerup symbols during the levels, you can't really avoid them. As such swap them so frequently, you don't really build experience with them. Furthermore it's not easy to tell what some of the powerups are actually doing, their visual and haptic effects appear rather timid in comparison to all the action and especially the ultimate, which is the only thing with the necessary omph. This feels like a wasted chance to introduce another layer of gameplay. Also the music doesn't really fit the theme. The graphics seem fine most of the time, i like the characters, which have a lot of personality. But everything happens so fast, it's h…

Swimsanity! is a console ported 2D retro arena brawler/Super Smash Bros ripoff that features versus modes as well as a co-op and single player campaign, which does position this as having at least some professional qualities (but not much). This isn't nearly as good as games like Super Smash Bros, the underwater theme adds little to an already obsolete genre of games. The game is badly polished and sluggish, the console port is one of the worst I've seen. But, aspiring to be console devs, the developers did infest the game with ridiculous P2W DLC... that's absolutely disgusting and has no place on the PC platform. We're not console peasants, and we're not here to put up with console peasant crap like that. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality gra…

I love that this is a local co-op game I can play with my kids. It looks great and has some good ideas, but they're all just kind of tossed onto the screen without any real level design. It feels very much like someone's first attempt at making a game, which apparently it is. I wish I could recommend this, but my kids and I were bored after half an hour.
