Although I love the concept of realistic space games (especially with clickable cockpits), this game is not ready for release yet: - Displays are flickering and cutting out - the controls for the head up display overlap with those to control the cockpit - The cockpit is not really clickable and has to be managed with the keyboard, which is very clunky - a Reference exists but no proper tutorial to find out where you are and what you are supposed to do If the above is fixed in the future, I will happily edit this review, as I love the idea, but right now I cannot recommend the game in its current state.12 found this helpful
This game reminds me of my beloved friend Jason who passed away from brain cancer in 2010. In 1987ish we bought a game we knew nothing about called Elite. I remember staying up very late at night with him figuring it out and playing until we dropped. Sylph is a pleasure to figure out for some, and to others who don't have their "Jason" anymore, its a little more difficult. I love the highly technical and realistic. What stands out most is how everything connects: power systems, fuel flow, propulsion, navigation—it all matters. You’re not just pressing a button to “go faster,” you’re thinking through procedures and consequences. It rewards patience and attention. The UI might look intimidating at first, but once it clicks, it becomes one of the strongest parts of the game. It gives you exactly the information you need without hand-holding. If you enjoy games like Kerbal but want something more grounded, more technical, and less forgiving, this is absolutely worth your time. What happens after you cross the singularity is kinda weird and does not fit well with the rest of the game to be honest. Would recommend, fun to play and easy to run. The only few things I had that I didn't like was the planets not having any sort of ground, I got so confused, and also how the cockpit is just screens and a box with a grid texture. Would also like a 3rd person1 found this helpful
