Tabletop Basketball VR

It just doesn't work. I really wanted to like this game. It's running on the Unity Engine, but it does look beautiful. There's only one court / map / environment though. There's a few different teams, but the players look pretty similar and they are difficult to distinguish. There's only one mode: practice. Ranked does not work. The only settings available are the sound settings. Motion controllers are used mostly as a gamepad. The only time you're not is when you're using a "circle" laser pointer to help in deciding where to pass it to or which defender to switch to. There is no locomotion, so you're in only one spot, however you get a nice 3rd person view of all the action so that's not a big deal. It doesn't matter because like I said, the game just doesn't work. Balls will bounce out of bounds on the majority of missed shots. Dunks have a very high miss rate whether guarded or not…

I recommend this game for the devs being courageous enough to go in uncharted territory for vr, with Hope's that they will work with this ugly duckling until it's a swan. The game is better than what I thought it would be, though still riddled with bugs. Hopefully we can see some multiplayer different camera angles, and play with the scale.

So I played this for about 36 mins. Never could finish a game due to the glitches and getting stuck on the sidelines, but what's here is fun in sort of a sinister sort of way. My favorite parts was the ability to be a complete ♥♥♥♥ to the AI opponent. Keep running into them to steal the ball, causing fouls then standing in between the players to steal the pass! Boo ya! Then superman your way to the basket for a 3 pointer... lol. Think it was more fun seeing how often I could steal the ball from other plays and make baskets from as far away as possible.... While I understand this is an early release game, there's alot here to love. I particularly liked looking down on the players and seeing everyone as if they're playing on a tabletop. I kinda hope this game continues will one day be finished. Could be great!
