About Tailwind

This is a story of a very coward prince Elrick.
The King have sent him into the journey to solve this problem during the sea adventures.

The game is made in soft pixel art style. It is a tactical puzzle.
All characters have such parameters as: health, attack and attack range.
You need to place your warriors on the isle in such a way to not let the enemy attack prince.
Sometimes a help of all warriors will be needed to move one character into right position.

The goal is to lead the prince through 40 dangerous isles to reach his princess.
Whoever has settled down on the isles – bandits, Papuans or warriors of the north, your warriors and tactics will help to dispose of an enemy.
Go ahead! To the dream of a princess!

The second puzzle in each level, the sliding one, is decent, but the first puzzle of knowing where the pieces should go is brutal. There are so many options and I started to see less and less ways of figuring out the right one. It got tedious, which was compounded by the rough QoL of the sliding. Experimenting takes forever because there's SO MUCH sliding to do. You also can't drag to slide and worse, you can't undo moves. There are six islands. I finished the first three normally, but I just used a guide for piece placement on the entire last half of the game. That way I just had to do the sliding part, which I actually liked.

It's a good game but the UI or UX or whatever the user interface is called too minimalistic too be understood. I am also probably too stupid to understand the game to play it. Wouldn't recommend unless you like simplistic chess-like strategy game. It's cute though. I have no idea why I wishlisted this game except probably because my stupid eyes reads the puzzle tag and thought it was a normal puzzle and not some super hard battle puzzle. I would probably like it if I am a smidge smarter than I currently am.

Immediately after the tutorials end the puzzles immediately become massively more difficult, the very first island providing you with ranged units which are completely useless against the 2 stealth units on the enemy's side. None of the other first islands are much better. This game looked like a good fun casual puzzle game, but it's actually extremely frustrating.

Difficult - not in a fun way, but a tedious way.

Hard puzzle game, but a very good one! Arrange your soldiers -- they will slide in a cardinal direction until hitting an obstacle (this maneuvering makes up 50% of the puzzle aspect, trying to figure out how to get your soldiers around the map to where you want them). Hit "start" and enemy soldiers approach; your soldiers defend. Soldier types (pikemen, swordsman, archer, thief) have different hp, damage, range, and behavior. Archers can't see thieves until they get within melee range.
