Take Care of the Paperwork

A lesser/easier version of Papers, please. It was entertaining enough for 15 minutes or so but after that I was missing it having any kind of progression. The Linux version of the game runs well enough but it doesn't seem to remember your progress as it tried to have me do the tutorial again the 2nd time I started it.

This is not a puzzle game, you just have to exactly follow the instructions on the screen. No thinking, only doing. The paperwork piles up higher and higher from level to level, so you need to be efficient. This can get quite challenging and hectic. The game is entertaining for a while.

Stamp, sign, fill out, staple, alphabatize, file. I mean, I could code this game, and I only have 15 credits in Computer Science. I hit 10th on the all-time leaderboards (I wrote mikehead) on the 1st try. Nobody is playing this game. I spent half an hour on this game, and my rule of thumb is, 1 hour = 1 dollar. I payed 33.3 cents for this game, so I got my money's worth. Not worth $1.99 but worth my 33.3 cents.

Okay, the gameplay loop is fun, and it's good to play, but... there's a couple factors that make me give it a thumbs down. First, it's kinda abandoned, and a little unfinished. There's an option to change the resolution, but there's no sound options. The leaderboard is broken, which wouldn't be so bad, if there wasn't a popup about it after every level. Also, I have misophonia, and I wanna turn off the background chatter, but... can't. Also, while we're talkin about the sound, the music's nice. That brings me to the main reason I'm downvoting this: I've got depression, and a game with simple and fun gameplay like this is really good to play when I have no energy to mentally process anything more complex. Or no energy to play anything hype. The music in this game is that kinda soft piano stuff that's calm, buuut also could be taken as sad if you're in just the wrong mood. Doesn't hurt when I'm depressed, though, because it's more of a fitting melancholy vibe. Kinda nice. And then, every time you finally fail a level, which ends your run, the game says something passive-aggressive. I don't have the exact quotes on me, but it's stuff like, "If you don't wanna play so bad, stop play…

A bit buggy. The leader board throws an error (some null value error). The game itself is good and worth buying. When the bug is fixed, I'd give it two thumbs up. Not it gets only one thumb up.
