Budget wuxia academy life sim Good: + Good pricing vs hours spent ratio (easily 20+ hours for $10) + Harem ending is well written compared to generic harem endings (there are a couple of scenes related to it) + Difficulty slider, mod support, and new game plus are all available + Protagonist is enjoyable to play as. He is overpowered because he is a martial prodigy and he is a good schemer + Unlimited free battles/gold grinding Bad: - You don't really notice the music/soundtrack - May be a tad too long for a single playthrough. I came into this game expecting a short stat raiser (I didn't read anything lol, trying to surprise myself), and found myself playing every difficulties and endings. Honestly, I didn't expect to get this hooked. The story is simple, but that's the charm. You see characters interacting in a slice-of-life like genre, quickly drawing you into loving them. I didn't expect the whole [spoiler] Shen Tinglan story to get that dark [/spoiler]. It makes me wonder how heavier it would feel if the game has less cheerful art style. The game is very, [i] very [/i] long, so it took me days for my first playthrough. Late into the endgame, there's many empty days, so I wish there would be an instant jump feature to instantly skip to the next scenario for players who are already satisfied with their stats. Lastly, I really love the endings, both romantic and non romantic. If possible, would you consider adding a platonic brotherhood-like route for the male characters? It's especially interesting if we could delve deeper into Ye Luo's childhood and inner court, plus Zhe's past, and Huiguang as well as Huiguang didn't leave much impression due to the lack of screentime compared to other characters. …
Reviewed: 2026/06/20. A "passable" but truly mid 6 / 10 game as of this writing. Maybe it'll get better with future updates, but this is my current review to reflect the "mixed" opinions. "Tales of Justice Academy: Winds Arise" is not [i]awful[/i], but there is just [i]nothing outstanding[/i] about it overall. In terms of gameplay it is probably closer to a 4/10 - just a lot of clicking to watch numbers go up and clear the number checks every 9 turns or so. The combat/battles itself is lackluster. In fact, I'd suggest doing away with the battle parts and simply make it a CYA (Choose your Adventure) light novel with the simple numbers check as a casual difficulty mode. The story isn't exactly "wow, what a classic" and it isn't complete. I'd estimate it at 40% to 60% complete as of this writing and this is very noticeable in the 2nd half of the game during the main storyline. At least the developers are honest about their roadmap, but we shall see if everything will be implemented within a year after release. It's annoying, but expecting a "complete" game now on release is impossible these days. And depressingly, I've come to accept it because it is simply hard to do better (es…
A very classic feeling Wuxia game with an interesting combat system and a pretty solid translation (at least so far).
Reminds me of Tale of Wuxia. Nice fun wuxia indie project and can't wait for the updates they have planned.
