About Tetris® Effect: Connected
Drop blocks to clear lines in this stunning sensory reinvention of Tetris where every element—music, visuals, effects—pulses in sync with your gameplay across 30+ stages. Battle solo or team up online with cross-platform multiplayer, competitive modes, and the unique Zone mechanic that lets you freeze time to escape tight spots.

Tetris® Effect: Connected is Tetris like you've never seen it, or heard it, or felt it before—an incredibly addictive, unique, and breathtakingly gorgeous reinvention of one of the most popular puzzle games of all time, from the people who brought you the award-winning Rez Infinite and legendary puzzle game Lumines.
Music, backgrounds, sounds, special effects—everything, down to the Tetriminos themselves—pulse, dance, shimmer, and explode in perfect sync with how you're playing, making any of the game's 30+ stages and 10+ modes something you'll want to experience over and over again.
Plus cross-platform multiplayer modes for competitive and cooperative play!

Over 30 different stages, each with its own music, sound effects, graphical style and background that all evolve and change as you play through them.
Players can stop time (and Tetriminos falling) by entering “the Zone” and either get out of a sticky situation that could otherwise lead to “Game Over,” or rack up extra Line Clears for bonus rewards.

Players on different platforms can easily join Friend Match rooms with the Room ID feature.

Test your skills in "CONNECTED" where three players can team up and literally connect their Tetris Matrices to fight against A.I.-controlled Bosses; "Zone Battle," a one-on-one match of standard competitive Tetris, but with a twist: the time-stopping Zone mechanic; and "Score Attack" and "Classic Score Attack,” two single-player versus modes where two players compete separately to see who can get the best score.

Spectator mode is available in Friend Matches. A room can contain up to 8 total people. Spectators can use emotes during the match to liven up the competition.
Tailored for Steam, capable of running at resolutions of 4K or more with an uncapped framerate (with Vsync disabled) and includes ultra-wide monitor support as well as other expanded game and graphical options not found in the console release for both 2D and VR play (including adjustable particle volume and size, texture filtering, and more).

I'm reviewing this from the perspective of a VR only player. I've never played the game outside of VR. I love Tetris. I love VR. Yet for some reason I thought the idea of Tetris in VR sounded... unnecessary. I was very wrong. The journey mode is incredibly beautiful and something that is best experienced in VR. The visuals and music are moving and add way more to the immersion than I would have thought possible. Outside of journey, the multiplayer is great and I've never had trouble connecting with other players. As a Tetris lover I have no doubt that multiplayer is fun on screen mode as well, but VR ruined me and now I can't see playing Tetris any other way. If you love Tetris and you love VR, don't hesitate. On paper this game should have no business being in my top 5 VR games of all time along with heavy hitters like The Forest and Valheim, yet its earned a solid spot at the top and I don't think its ever going to be knocked down.2 found this helpful

Various play modes, very enjoyable and the mechanics don't disappoint.
DOING LINES LIKE CONNOR MCGREGOR
Will always be my favorite way of playing Tetris
👍 Recommended? Yes. This game somehow turned stacking blocks into a spiritual experience. It's Tetris. You already know Tetris. Or at least... you think you do. Then this game hits you with stunning visuals, incredible music, and enough particle effects to convince you you've accidentally achieved enlightenment. Every level feels like you're playing inside a music video. The soundtrack isn't background music. It's your heartbeat. You stop thinking about scores. You stop thinking about time. You simply become... one with the long piece. Until it doesn't appear. The moment you desperately need an I-piece, it immediately becomes the rarest object in the known universe. Scientists should study this phenomenon. The Connected mode is fantastic because nothing strengthens friendships quite like collectively screaming, "WE NEED THE LINE PIECE." It never comes. 10/10. Still waiting.
