The Adventures of Perseus

The Adventures of Perseus is a match 3 game that has the story of the Adventures of Perseus (think Clash of the Titans storyline) intertwined through all the match three boards that are set in areas all over the Mediterranean. As you play you will get help from other goods once you have completed certain boards, this help comes in the forms of different ways to help you clear the board, once you have collected the necessary tokens that "fill" up the corresponding symbol for the power. When you start playing a board, there will be a sign at the top of the screen telling you what kind of matches you need to make to clear the board you will either be swapping to make matches or "drawing a chain" or clicking on blocks to clear the board. There are colored tiles under the pieces that you have to clear to finish a board. Sometimes you have to also match special pieces to unlock a box or draw plans for buildings. These plans are used for your "city" that you build as you make your way through the game. There are also three levels of play Easy, which has no timer, medium which has a timer and a longer interval in between hints and finally a hard level which has a shorter timer to finish…

I love playing matching games especially when they are based on Greek or Roman mythology! The challenges and varieties available in this game are excellent, reminding me a little of the Cradle Of Rome series of match 3 games. There are 3 Modes of difficulty Mortal/easy which has no timer and puzzles can be skipped in 30 seconds. Hero/medium which has a timer and 60 seconds on skip and hint meters. Olympian/hard has no skip features and hints take 2 minutes to recharge. There are mini games such as repeating the same order of symbols shown in the fire, by matching the exact order on the symbols in the sand. Some levels require you to match a certain amount of keys and then use the master key to open up a chest as well as the rest of the board. You have to do the same with feathers, and then use the main feather on the parchment paper. There will eventually be sickles to collect which will destroy the creatures. There are different goals requiring different types of match 3 games, the classic 3 or more tile swapping. In my opinion it was a very enjoyable game with all varieties of Match 3 and worth the price on sale.

The Adventures of Perseus promises to delver a great yarn, but the match-3 techniques are awkward and troublesome... Very disappointing overall.

Game crashes constantly under windows 10. What I was able to play, it would be a good game. Not worth the money, no response from the devs to problems. It turns out that the game can not run full screen, and it defaults to full screen mode. You have to start the game go into options disable full screen mode and exit the program. After that it will play correctly in a window.

A lovely game with 9 chapters with up to 12 levels. Very much like Jason and Argonauts but the buildings are much easier to see. Great sounds and mysterious music. Build your town. Very enjoyable Match 3 with 3 difficulty levels (one untimed) and short mini-games to complete as well.
