About The Croaker
The Croaker is a feature-packed game where you collect apples. Where's the fun in that? Well, these apples you collect are used all throughout the game: You can buy skins and banners from the online shop and compete on leaderboards. Also, every time you complete a level, you earn a certain amount of Emeralds, which you can also compete for on their own seperate leaderboards.
There are 50 unique campaign levels (Each one has their own theme), where the protagonist, Jeremy, gets trapped in a simulation and must escape without the antagonist of Virtual Guy finding him. Not only that, there are going to be brand new Bonus Levels every few updates just to keep adding content to the game so you can never get bored.
That's not enough? Well, you can create a level using the in-game level editor and upload it for a chance of me noticing it and tagging it- or better yet, it can become the featured level for everyone to see! There's also account saving so you can never lose your progress.Update 1.7 (Released January 1st, 2026) nearly doubled the games size with the amount of features it added, and introduced Daily Rewards where you can earn daily Apples and Amethysts, along with a major graphical revamp.
There's so much packed into such a simple game, and the best part is, thre's tons more coming! What's in this version might be a fraction of what you see in a future release! You can take a peek at the screenshots to see how the game looks.

The Croaker, developed and published by AlienTaker, is a straightforward yet quietly ambitious 2D platformer that builds its identity around precision movement, replayability, and community-driven content rather than narrative or spectacle. At first glance, it presents itself as a simple arcade-style experience—navigate levels, collect items, avoid threats—but as you spend more time with it, the design reveals a deeper focus on mastery and iteration. It’s the kind of game that doesn’t overwhelm with features, but instead refines a small set of mechanics and encourages players to push them as far as possible. The basic gameplay loop is easy to grasp. You move through side-scrolling levels, collecting apples while avoiding hazards and staying ahead of an ever-present danger tied to the game’s simulation-like premise. The controls are responsive and intentionally minimal, allowing players to focus entirely on timing and positioning. Early levels serve as a gentle introduction, but the difficulty gradually increases, demanding tighter execution and quicker reactions. The challenge rarely feels unfair, but it does expect consistency, especially in later stages where even small mistakes…1 found this helpful
This game is still in very early access and has a lot of work to be done and I don't expect it to be perfect but I cant give this a high rating because of its flaws. 1. Replay-ability 4/10 pretty straightforward with nothing to keep the game feeling fresh 2. Fun 6/10 gets pretty boring after a little bit but overall pretty fun 3. One thing that I must note is that the speedrun timer is counted in milliseconds which kinda sucks 4. I must also note that the creator banned my friend because he showed him a bug he needed to fix that is game breaking These are the main four things I will note and wont go into any ranting about the rest of the game Sincerely, The Average User Have a good day :D1 found this helpful
