The Curse of Kubel

In "The Curse of Kubel" we have a very much simplified adventure game that is linear, without real choice, and basically always leads to a bad end. Aside from the initial impression of having good art, nice voice acting and a few basic characters and interactions, sadly that's where the game ends, interactions with characters outside of the direct story interactions (6 or 7 characters) no one else has a name, nor any relevance. and going into the dungeon brings you into generic, randomly generated levels where you have to find the button to spawn the exit and then find the exit, then exit, then have a few small sex scenes on resting maps in between the dungeon levels. the devastating reality of this game is sadly: You only have one character you really interact much with: the villain, which starts out completely forcing and controling the heroine mc into sex acts. But where this game peaks - namingly when the heroince slowly comes around to enjoy it- this games sex scenes basically end. So you could put the story into a 45 minutes ingame (sex chat message with static art) sequence. 3/5 This only barely earned a thumbs up. It is pretty, and the main character is engaging. I would have loved her streets clothes but topless - no luck with that so far. The problem is the basic game circulation; it remains the same with variations throught the game. I have not finished it yet so this may improve.

The Curse of Kubel is an absolute gem. From the moment I started playing, I was captivated by the protagonist’s expressive journey, her emotional evolution is portrayed with such nuance that every moment feels earned. The slow corruption arc is masterfully paced, seductive in its subtlety, and spot on in execution. It’s rare to see a game balance narrative tension and character depth so well. Huge kudos to the localization team! Their work brings the story to life with clarity and charm, preserving the original tone while making it resonate beautifully in English. You’ve made a fun, immersive experience even more enjoyable, and I’m genuinely excited for what’s to come. Magetano’s design is especially pretty, elegant and evocative, it adds a distinct visual flair to the game. And the DLC? A must-have. The addition of voice acting spices things up even further, deepening the emotional impact and making the experience feel more alive. Thank you for delivering such a memorable game.
