The Duelist: Sanaculus

It is a story of a medieval condottiere - a soldier of fortune, a squad leader, and a skilled duelist.

You are Giacomo, a former mercenary officer embroiled in a conflict of wealthy city-states.

You once again gather your condottieri squad and play a key role in the fast-paced war. But little did you know about mysterious forces behind your enemies! Very soon you will have to decide the fate of the world.
The Duelist: Sanaculus is a turn-based tactical RPG in dark fantasy setting about a squad of practiced mercenaries. You gradually build your squad, training and equipping each member. Heroes have unique abilities and use weapons of different kinds.

The core gameplay of The Duelist includes the land exploration, tactical combats, obtaining trophies and their further use for future fights. The ultimate goal is tied to the game plot, however you can go sidequesting if you want to.

In addition to squad combat, there is the duel mode - sometimes you will have to challenge an enemy officer, or defend against a hired killer!

Heroes begin their journey near a city-state called Porta Terra at the mouth of a great river. During the game, the player explores the surrounding lands, cities and settlements, performing tasks for the local ruler.

The land has a lot of dungeons, dangerous places and wandering gangs of robbers. You explore the land in 3D mode and also use a detailed paper map of the region.
The past and present of the squad members are combined in the central plot and reveal both the spirit of the heroes and their stories. Some of them had long been brothers in arms, others joined later.

Impostor

A braggart who often pretends to be someone he's not - for fun or for a gold coin. He is the leader of this peculiar squad, but no one really knows his biography. The impostor's appearance is bright and memorable, as well as his Italian accent. His weapon is a rapier or its flamberge version. He also uses throwing knives or incendiary mixture to achieve the best results in battle.

Deserteur

The former cavalryman has not lost his sword skills and always keeps a sword with him. At the same time, he has a particular advantage in combat - a loaded pistol. He also masters a rare and extravagant technique of swordplay with the two-handed sabersword - kordalätsch.

Bounty Hunter

Short-spoken, efficient, and knowledgeable mercenary. If one can get a decent sum of money for the head of a criminal, perhaps the criminal will find out what the handshake of the "Dead Hand” means. Sturdy, medium height, he hides his face and carries a weapon to match - a one- or two-handed Bec de сorbin and baselard.

Covetous Knight

Pathologically greedy, thrifty on everything but his ambition, an adventurer of noble lineage. As befits a knight, his main weapon is a sword: the katzbalger, flamberg, two-handed zweihander or gros-messer. He also uses a small buckler as a shield.

Hermit

Hermit got her skills of hunting as well as her ability to get along with animals (hunting dogs and birds) from her father. Tireless, silent, and solitary, this huntress chose the company of animals over that of men, shielding herself from envy, betrayal, and misunderstanding.
