This game is crazy hard. If you want a challenge, play this game. Not only is the mechanics insanely weird, the environment and enemies make it even harder to progress.

The Lone Blade is a game that truly tests your skills and perseverance, offering a challenging experience that is both frustrating and incredibly rewarding. While it may push you to your limits at times, the sense of accomplishment you feel when overcoming its obstacles is second to none. Let's address the difficulty first. The Lone Blade doesn't hold your hand; it throws you headfirst into a world filled with formidable foes and treacherous obstacles. From the moment you pick up the titular blade, you're thrust into intense combat encounters and nerve-wracking platforming challenges that will push your reflexes and strategic thinking to their limits. At times, the difficulty of The Lone Blade can be frustrating. There were moments when I found myself repeatedly failing a section or getting stuck on a particularly tough boss fight, feeling the urge to throw my controller in frustration. However, it's precisely this level of challenge that makes the game so satisfying to conquer. Because despite its difficulty, The Lone Blade is incredibly rewarding to play. I played the demo of this a while back and liked it. But as I tried to play further it began to feel like I was wrestling less with my own limits and more with the technical issues of the game. If you fall in a pit you get reset to a checkpoint. Sometimes the trigger for this is so high that it triggers when trying to go over a pit (staircase section) and other times it's so low that you have to actively try to fall down low enough for it to reset from an unrecoverable position (stone pillars). There was also one part with instant death balls of sand which I feel could've been handled better, and there was another part where you have to jump down a really long pit after the checkpoint each time you die. But the biggest issue, is the camera on the rotating gear levels, and the options menu that won't let you invert (or un-invert) the camera controls (with keyboard and mouse). Oh, and the demo was seemingly removed. This is another episode in the "games that remove their demos always turn out to be worse than I remember" saga.

This game is pretty hard but altogether a good time! 7/10

T.L.B. is a novel idea, where you control a sword through environmental puzzles and hazards. The game sounds and looks good, especially considering the small development team here, although, I found myself struggling with the cameras and it's controls more often than not. This struggle took all the enjoyment I should have with the game and made it more of a hurdle than anything else. Based on my experience alone, I couldn't recommend it, although, this shouldn't retract you from trying it, since the points I mentioned are probably due to my lack of skill.
