About The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo

The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo is a surrealist point’n’click graphic adventure. Mr. Coo is stuck in a weird, nonsensical world, and he needs your help to get out of it -but first of all, he needs to find all his pieces and be whole again!- There might be some philosophical strife behind all this nonsense, but with all the chaotic monsters, crazy robots and one-eyed ladies, it’s kinda hard to say.

With an astounding and colorful hand-drawn 2D cartoon art, and a surrealist and whimsical story, full of absurd humor, wacky characters and crazy situations and innovative puzzles, The Many Pieces Mr. Coo is a fresh take of the graphic adventure genre that will bring together veterans of these gamers and newcomers alike.

Mr. Coo and this game are creations of the acclaimed artist Nacho Rodríguez. 2D animator and director, Rodríguez has been nominated to the Goya Awards for his short film “A lifestory”. He also was lead animator of the game O.zen at Ubisoft. Mr. Coo is one of his most celebrated characters, having appeared in several hilarious short films.
  • A fresh take of the point’n’click graphic adventure genre
  • Astounding hand-drawn 2D cartoon artstyle
  • A surrealist, whimsical world, symbolic and full of meaning – but also heartwarmingly silly!
  • Meet wacky and lovable characters like the Giant Chicken, the Faunus or the One-eyed Woman
  • Lots of absurd humor. Look, we already told you there are giant chickens, we can’t stress this enough

The Many Pieces of Mr. Coo is a point and click surrealist puzzle game. This game is, in a word, weird. The art style is lovely and the puzzles are on the easier end of things. There is a mostly coherent narrative ('mostly' because surrealism is a heck of a trip lol), but it's the bizarro characters that really did it for me. I completed the game just shy of 1.5 hours. I suspect replay value is on the lower end of things given the puzzle difficulty of like a 2 on a 5 point scale. But, this was altogether a fun palate cleanser. A piece of art! Absolutely mesmerizing art and animation, lots of humour and that great vibe of old point and click games. Just a pleasure to get through.

I can't compliment the artstyle enough, it's gorgeous and unique. The puzzles are great, had lots of fun with the whole game. I wish there was a sequel.

Totally beautiful and weird surrealist game, awesome hand-drawn cartoonish style but it also have real scenes (like the arms) that make a great contrast along with the combined 2D and some 3D animations that the game has, plus the music is really good and mixes perfectly with the game. Great puzzles, some of them will get you thinking for a while (not because they are difficult, in fact, they are pretty easy, but they may be so obvious you wont think about them as a solution). Its a short game that you could complete in a day but its fun and totally worth the money and time. And all the "gifts" left at the end of the game for you to find and look at the sketches makes you feel closer to it ❤

The animation is great to watch, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it as a game to play yourself. I think watching a playthrough would be just as enjoyable, if not moreso. The gameplay itself is standard point and click fare, with the pro of having funny little animations even for clicking the wrong things, and the con of having some contrived and nonsensical solutions - which is notoriously common for the genre so maybe that's fine, if you can stomach that quirk. The final chapter does involve a quick (time-sensitive) click on an object I'd never think would solve the problem, and if you fail that then you have to basically watch a 30 second cutscene before you try again, so that's obnoxious - at least it's short though, so if you really want to support the artist and don't mind a <2 hour game that could just as easily be experienced on youtube, go for it, why not.

Gorgeous animation but despite of barely having any content it is absolutely tedious to play. Had to restart one of the last chapters three times because the game was bugging out. What a disappointment.
