About The Name I Wear

Play as a spy in a first-person narrative puzzle game. Writing a name allows you to take on that identity. Explore a riad, gather clues, and uncover the truth. With no pen at your disposal, creatively and unexpectedly use the environment to form names and change identities.KEY FEATURES1/ Characters act as “keys” to progress through the story2/ Clues to discover in the environment to make progress3/ Each character has a unique ability4/ Various original objects to creatively write a name5/ A playground that gradually opens upART & MUSIC
The soundtrack mostly revolves around the jazz noire ambient genre (pads, saxophone, double bass and piano), with North African instruments (Oud, handpan...) The sound design is minimalistic, allowing for key sound features to blend into the music. Set in a Morocco-inspired riad, the art direction follows a semi-realistic style, having realistic shapes but with black outlines and a handpainted texturing effect, giving a comic book feel.

I wish it was longer, but it definitely was very good. Please make another game, it's very interesting!

Pretty short game, graphics were pretty good for the game style that it was and the concept of the game was very interesting. Would have liked it to be a way longer game than what it was, but still enjoyed it!

A visually stunning game with an incredibly interesting story. The puzzles were the perfect combination between intuitive and tricky so I never felt like it was too easy but also never felt utterly lost.

Gorgeous music and visuals, a smooth and pleasant simple puzzling experience. I would absolutely play a longer version of this with more complex puzzles that require you to really scour the environments and use your brain. As it is the puzzles are straight forward but still satisfying, the core mechanic is interesting and has great potential. A great free student project that is impressive and enjoyable.

The Name I Wear is a 3D puzzle game set in the 20th century, with a strong story (finding out who betrayed an intelligence group), and a very clever mechanic (becoming another person, with their memories and skills e.g. lockpicking or languages, by spelling out their name on any available device). The game has excellent 3D graphics and very good voice acting. The puzzles are not difficult, though some require careful selection of which character to become at which time, and I only discovered the second (hidden) ending with the help of a guide. The game is a relatively short student project - my play time represents two long runs for various achievements, and multiple short speed run attempts - but has the overall quality of a priced commercial game. There were a few odd subtitles (e.g. the spoken "Mister" becoming "Mystic"), but I've just noticed that these seem to have been very recently corrected. There are a number of achievements for game progress, for speed running (one of these is currently bugged though a workaround is available), and for finding the alternative ending. Overall a very interesting, enjoyable and well-implemented game with a novel twist.
