TL:DR, 5.5/10. Beautiful aesthetics and soundtrack, however it has been over two years since the release of chapter one with absolutely no word on the remainder. Currently only 1 of 5 chapters is released, and that barely occupies two hours of gameplay. World Building: The world design is pretty to look at but permits little in terms of actual exploration. The world map is very decieving in this matter since the game is utterly linear. The lore behind the world was somewhat interesting but not at all fleshed out because the size of the play-able world was so tiny. Game Design: The character dialogue was children's book cheesy at best using standard dialogue boxes. Character animation was poor. Controls were very clunky; walking around was fine but interacting with objects using a mouse and keyboard? Forget it, took multiple clicks to get the character to interact with something. They also incorporated a way to rotate your camera using your mouse button that was very counter-intuititve, made navigating the maze considerably more difficult and nauseating. The puzzles in this game were otherwise lackluster, numbering only several. Overall: There is a good foundation to build upon …

When I first bought this, it was unplayable. Let the developer aware of this problem of the xbox controller not working with the game ( or the game didn't work with the controller). So, forgot about it for about a year. I found that it was playable, but sooooooo short! It was enjoyable until you got to the end, thinking that it was going to go on....then credits. That you were forced to watch until it was done. I would say that this game is enjoyable. Just so dissapointed in how short it was. Not to mention, that there is NO info on future chapters. Unless they plan on getting more out there. Don't waste your money.

Incredible game, built with true vulnerability and passion, which truly shines through. Awesome art and music. Sadly the clouds still don't move 10 years later, such a shame.

The Song of Seven: Overture is an independent narrative adventure developed and published by Eric Blomquist, and it stands as a heartfelt blend of exploration, character-driven storytelling, and environmental puzzle-solving. Set in a whimsical world where ancient myths coexist with personal discovery, the game follows Kiba, a timid musician from the secluded village of Kami. His life changes when he meets Emma, a bold and curious inventor who draws him out of his comfort zone and into an adventure that expands both his understanding of the world and himself. This central dynamic—between fear and curiosity, familiarity and the unknown—serves as the emotional and thematic core of the story, giving the game a tone of introspection and warmth that distinguishes it from many other adventure titles. From a gameplay perspective, The Song of Seven: Overture offers a third-person, single-player experience built around exploration, environmental interaction, and light puzzle mechanics. The controls are intuitive and accessible, allowing players to navigate through a variety of hand-crafted environments that feel both imaginative and inviting. Each puzzle is designed to flow naturally within…

Pretty good if you just want a game without an overly complex storyline and mechanics. Relaxing and fun.
