About The Soul Stone War

You are a person on the run from your past, and no matter how far or fast you go, you cannot outrun your destiny. In this epic journey, it’s not just your life that hangs in the balance. Ancient artifacts of untold power are waking up from their millennia-old sleep, and whoever controls them will help mold the shape of your world.

The Soul Stone War is a thrilling 487,000-word interactive fantasy novel by Morgan Vane, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Embark on a journey of self-discovery, sacrifice, and heroism, meet the people that are bound to you through the threads of fate, fall in love or fall into despair. Will you rise up to the challenge that is to be a Soul Stone Wielder? Or will you allow the world to be shrouded in darkness? The choice is yours.
  • Play as female, male, or non-binary; straight, gay, or bisexual.
  • Be chosen by an all-powerful artifact—a Soul Stone assuming the form of eight different weapons and six different gemstones.
  • Choose one of three different backgrounds, each one of them unique and providing different content for your roleplaying needs.
  • Meet a cast of distinct characters—a prickly warrior, a mischievous she-elf, a half-dragon woman, a gentle noble with a dark past, and the mysterious antagonist.
  • Forge friendships, or fall in love with each of them individually or in three different polyamorous relationships.
  • Do battle with fierce enemies, grow in strength using your combat or magical prowess, your wits or persuasion. Become the Stone Wielder you’re meant to be against impossible odds.
  • Immerse yourself in a world of magic, sacrifice, and love where your choices will determine the very fate of the world.

Your Soul Stone is waiting for you.

If I hadn't been past the refund window when I started playing, I definitely would have asked for a refund. The story failed to hook me from the start, and I only stuck with it to get my money's worth. The MC is constantly portrayed as weak and in need of protection, which would be fine if consistent, but they can somehow kill armed bandits in the very first chapter and wield both weapons and magic with no training. It seems the game can't decide if they're helpless or capable—or rather, it insists they're helpless and hammers it in, yet lets them be randomly competent at times. You can choose the MC's age (from 18 to early 30s), which is neat in theory, but meaningless in practice as they act childishly regardless, and other characters treat them like a kid (despite being attracted to them, which is a whole other can of worms). The game forces a default MC personality on you, with long stretches of passive reading that don't even take your personality stats into account. On my second playthrough, I shifted my roleplay to fit the character the game seemed to expect, which helped, and I did notice a few scene variations that were mildly rewarding. Still, having to bend your rolepl…

This novel is.... subpar, to be frank. The story is dull and uninteresting, the world-building is extremely lacking, and where it exists it is equally generic and uninspired. The characters are archetypes rather than people, each of them possessing a trait or two that essentially comprises their entire personality; Morkai the temperamental himbo, usually jovial but quick to anger, Straasa the chill support, Daelynn the flirt, Eledwen the quiet and mysterious one, Mornie the disgusting minion, and Manerkol the personality vacuum that's evil for the sake of being evil. The MC spends most of the story being a useless wimp - I get that they're a rookie at the start, but is it really too much to ask that they go five minutes without becoming exhausted or laying about in a vegetative state while their companions rescue them for the millionth time? The writing is atrocious (Using 'noob' in a medieval setting? Really?) and treats you like an idiot, often stating the obvious and favouring telling over showing (I recall one line where it's stated about three times that Straasa is being saracstic/mocking). Your actions have little bearing on the overall story or the personality of your charac…

I loved this! I know a lot of people did not like the MC being so weak but it makes sense since this literally their first adventure and this a trilogy so i am sure we will get stronger and i found it a nice change of pace to be weak instead of strong. The characters are all amazing and i love em all. The story is a right mix of fun and epic and i have to stop myself from playing too much because of it lol. The dialogue is really good especially the snarky dialogue which is my fave type of dialogue. I give this game a 10/10

The story is good but lacks some player choice and it feels like MC is a damsel in distress.

I really enjoyed this game! While it does have some faults in the writing at times, the characters are really well fleshed out, which kept me hooked!
