7/10 Soul Gambler is a comic book style visual novel retelling the classic story of Faust in the modern age. Clever, edgy, and memorable but choices don’t seem to truly matter. Soul Gambler is a comic book styled visual novel where you can make choices. You play as Faust, from the historical classic Doctor Faustus, retold in the modern age. Faust makes a deal where he has the ability to sell parts of his soul to grant his wishes, how much of his soul is given away for his desires is up to you. There’s multiple endings. The story itself is entertaining, even if I didn’t necessarily like Faust as a person. I enjoyed the artstyle and thought the sounds and music added to the gameplay experience which ran pretty smoothly for me. I encountered no bugs while playing. It took me around ~3 hours to finish the game in its entirety with all achievements. No trading cards but Point Shop Items are available. The biggest problem with the game is the choices seemingly not mattering, many of which resulting in dead ends or forcing you to choose what you didn’t want to do regardless. It's an alright game that I bought a long time ago for 50 cents. Wish it had a faster way to skip dialogue but it is what it is.
Soul Gambler is a short but entertaining visual novel based on Faust. I personally didn’t know that beforehand I only played it because I had added the game to my library years ago. With that said, it’s quite good and, despite some poor visuals and being too short, it’s worth it
A "Game" you need to "Replay" twice or more to get the full set of posibilities. Its a nice story and the art is great too. I rly had fun "playing" this Visual Novel. Its fair priced on Sale. Have Fun 7 of 10!
Speaking without thinking is like shooting without aiming. I recommend a good game.
A game so dependent on text needs to be better proof-read, There are tons of stupid grammatical errors that even a child wouldn't make. Please fix the script and update. There is absolutely NO excuse for such an inept release. Let me know if you need help hiring a proof-reader, this release would make folks think finding such a person would be difficult, but it's fantastically easy.
