In the end, you will have an unbeatable boss - the "Thing".

2/10 The Thing: Space X is a minimal space shooter with no story that most people play for easy achievements. Lazy, buggy, and bare. The Thing: Space X is a “kill them all” space shooter that lacks most things space shooters have. There’s a ship selection for cosmetic purposes and the actual retro-feel art is well done. The gameplay is intuitive and you have three lives to try to beat the unbeatable “Thing” boss. It took me ~1 minute to finish the game with all achievements. The achievement consists of you mashing 1-0 and a-z on your keyboard and takes less than a minute to do. No cards. The actual gameplay is horrible and takes minutes to complete if you spam your missiles. There’s no invisible wall so if you miss an enemy they will shoot at you off screen. The controls are bare minimum and there’s no tutorial to teach you how to turn that ship around to offset this problem. There’s no upgrades, story, or real differences to any other bare minimum space shooter making The Thing: Space X easily forgettable. There weren’t any sound effects and the music consisted of annoying extremely loud EDM music. I can’t find a reason why anyone would want to play this shooter aside from the …

The Thing: Space X is a compact, old-school inspired space action game that leans heavily into arcade traditions rather than modern complexity. Developed by LillyWelland inc. and published by Bitlock Studio, the game places players in the cockpit of a lone combat ship tasked with pushing back an aggressive enemy presence across hostile regions of space. Its ambitions are modest and clearly defined: deliver straightforward shooting action, simple progression, and a constant forward momentum that recalls classic arcade space battles. The overall structure is built around clearing successive space sectors filled with enemy waves. Each area throws swarms of hostile ships at the player, demanding constant movement, careful positioning, and steady firing to survive. There is little downtime between encounters, and the game encourages a rhythm of dodge, shoot, and advance that rarely changes throughout its runtime. This design keeps the pace brisk and accessible, making it easy to jump in for short sessions without the need to remember complex systems or long-term strategies. Ship variety is one of the game’s primary progression hooks. As players advance, they gain access to multiple sp…

If you need 36 achievements, don't want to play, and just want to farm — this is exactly what you need. Launch the game. At the main menu, press 39 keys (if you want, I can send you which ones). Close the game — and that’s it, the achievements are yours! Easy and simple. The game is pretty decent, an arcade shooter with a spaceship and enemies, but I didn’t play through it. Just jumped in for the achievements for a couple of minutes. If you want to quickly boost your achievement collection, this is perfect for you.
