THE WELL is a compact first-person psychological horror game built around isolation, hunger, deteriorating sanity, and the disturbing consequences of desperation. Developed and published by Creeps LTD. and Marrit, it approaches horror on a deliberately small scale, concentrating on atmosphere and narrative progression rather than complicated mechanics. The Well is a narrative focused experience, that has hints of other elements inside it as well. You're a man that is seemingly in a remote house in a remote forest. You experience weird things happening to you & your surroundings & try to figure out what is going on, while fighting your own sanity. For a short 20 minute game, I would recommend to anybody looking for an eerie game that also lands on its comedy. 5.5 / 10

THE WELL is a really unsettling little horror game that I found much more disturbing than I expected. I play as a lonely hermit who has been cut off from the outside world and is slowly starving in his isolated home. Things become much stranger when I pull a human corpse from the well, and from there the game starts pushing me into a situation that feels increasingly wrong. The gameplay is mostly focused on exploration and completing simple objectives. I move around the property and nearby forest, search for notes and useful objects, and gradually uncover what is happening. I liked the day by day structure because the environment keeps changing as the story progresses. The house becoming more run down over time also helps make the situation feel like it is getting worse. The hunting sections add a nice change of pace. I have a slow reloading rifle and a machete, while the creatures in the forest can react to my movement and gunfire. I enjoyed having to think about noise and positioning instead of simply running around shooting everything. Just a short little game about being abandoned and alone in the woods. Did I commit horrible acts I'll never speak of again? No officer, I never did anything. 4/10 "Not my wife man....."
