the World According to Girl

The art style is cool, and looking at the information on the store page had me thinking this game was for me. It's very difficult, and it's tutorial doesn't really tell you anything. I don't know if it's because English isn't its primary language or not, but you're left largely in the dark. There are no guides in English, and the discussions are largely about how RNG heavy it is, to where those who've figured out mechanics still fail consistently due to layers of RNG. So, sadly, I can't recommend this.

Despite the card game part seems challenging from one point of view, get over it with your preparation and luck. The worldview and anime characters are excellent anyways. Fair price.

difficult but fun :D

This is a review in-progress. I just feel the need to state a few things worth knowing, having spent 4+ hours playing. This game starts off rough and I was left confused and uncertain if I would even like it. The gameplay is not very generous. This is an absolute roguelike that demands the player to learn from experience. After several failed but intriguing attempts, I became transfixed by this game. Spellbound by it, even. I think about it a lot and have this burning need to clear it and do as well as possible. I even want to know what happens in the conclusion of its storyline despite the storyline lacking coherence. I remain intrigued by all aspects. The girl, the protagonist and his mysterious intentions, the intimidating Abigail tests, the gameplay loop, the absolute luck of the draw for cards, just about everything about the game has become ensnaring after some time and patience. The art style and UI is pretty nice too though it could benefit from much more clarity and a guided initial tutorial.
