Tichupro by Spectrum

Tichupro by Spectrum is a pretty straightforward digital version of Tichu, and I think it does a good job of keeping the focus on the card game itself. I am playing in teams of two, trying to get rid of my cards while also working with my partner to reach the required score. It is not the kind of card game I can completely switch my brain off for because there is quite a bit of planning involved, especially once I start paying attention to what cards have already been played. The special cards are where things get more interesting. The Dragon, Phoenix, Dog and Mah Jong all have their own uses, and I found myself thinking more carefully about when I should play them rather than simply using the strongest card available. The team element also adds another layer because I have to think about my partner as well as myself. I like that because it makes winning a round feel more about making good decisions than simply getting lucky with my hand. The actual interface is fairly clean and easy to understand. The game uses a simple 2D presentation, and the rounds move along without trying to bury the card table under unnecessary effects. I also like that it supports cross platform multiplay…
