Ties

Ties is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from Objectif 3D in France. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. The game follows Mink and Gum, two characters, on a quest to discover the origins of Gum's world. This quest involves exploring a fantastical and potentially hostile environment.. and of course, 3D platforming. Игра 'Ties' подкупает своей минималистичной эстетикой и глубокой эмоциональной составляющей. Простые правила головоломок на деле оказываются обманчиво сложными, требуя стратегического мышления и предвидения каждого хода. Механика соединения точек и создания связей между ними реализована интуитивно понятно, но вариативность уровней не позволяет заскучать ни на минуту. Особый шарм игре придаёт сюжет, рассказанный визуально, без единого слова. История о взаимоотношениях, разлуке и воссоединении трогает до глубины души, заставляя задуматься о ценности связей в нашей жизни. Плавное обучение механикам и отсутствие навязчивых подсказок позволяет полностью погрузиться в процесс решения головоломок и интерпретации сюжета. 'Ties' - это игра, которая не пытается казаться чем-то большим, чем она есть. Это лаконичная, но при этом очень эмоциональная головоломка, которая оставляет приятное послевкусие и заставляет задуматься о важных вещах. Рекомендую всем, кто ищет не просто развлечение, а опыт, который тронет сердце.

This game was really good and shows a lot of potential, I'm also impressed by the lenght of this free game without feeling repetitive. The only thing is that i think the trailer would attract more people if it was clear that the dash can defeat enemies, instead of seemingly only evading them, something that could drive away some people, in fact I wasn't sure about the game either at first, but I'm glad I tried and finished it.

I've had a lot of fun with it so far. The graphics are super fun and the sound is pretty good. It's short and simple, but still challenging enough to keep me hooked until the end. ‍
