About tiny & Tall: Gleipnir

tiny & Tall: Gleipnir, Part One is a classic yet modern point'n'click adventure, inspired by LucasArt's legendary titles.

Two barely competent and charmingly inept blacksmiths find themselves contractually bound to the Norse gods and have to explore a lovingly handcrafted world in a quest for unusual and magical objects. But while they look for these ingredients, the sinister gaze of Loki, the Trickster god, casts an evil shadow on their path...

Solve (not so) convoluted puzzles, talk to eccentric characters and discover an epic Norse legend!
  • Old-school gameplay with a modern realization
  • A pair of adorable characters, one slightly less so than the other
  • Lots of jokes, almost none directed against the fourth wall
  • More than 50 handpainted (on a computer) levels
  • A unique soundtrack
  • Scared of opaque point'n'clicks? This one's got an entirely optional clue system
  • It is pixel art – 1920*1080 of 'em

-Technical issues with the resolution on game launch -Achievement system that disincentivises you from using the hint and qol systems in the game -Hidden achievement that requires you to not talk to a character (and no way of knowing this unless you look it up and restart the game) -Somehow manages to have puzzles that are simple and yet frustrating at the same time -Music is banging though. Would rather just listen to that then waste time playing this.

Protagonists' relationship is way too toxic for me to truly enjoy this game and the fact that it's only half of the story adds insult to injury. But still, the humor is humoring, and It could have been a good game if only it was complete, or it a smaller part of it was released as a demo instead. As things look like now, very unlikely it will ever be complete, and that is the main reason for "not recommend". However, I promise to change my review if Part 2 ever comes out.

I was initially intrigued by this title, even though hesitantly because i'm fed up of the Telltale Style episodic release of titles, but I went into this with an open mind - and encountered a rather frustrating issue whilst playing in that unless you were SPOT-ON where the dev wanted you to click you basically got it wrong. A larger area would be welcomed in some type of patch or in the next episode to make this more user-friendly. It's not quite pixel perfection but it does feel quite unfair. In addition to this, although this could be really unfair and down to user error but I couldn't find a manual save option. The title does appear to save itself with an auto-save, ad if there IS manual save i'm really sorry but I didn't find it and this is totally me being unreasonable.

I only realize today I never gave this game the positive review it deserves T_T It is one of the best modern point & click games, beautifully hand drawn and super well written ! Part 2 isn't out yet, but I *know* it'll be worth the wait !
