Tokyo Re:Connect is an Original English Language Visual Novel (OELVN) for Windows, Mac, and Linux. With a romance-driven story full of colorful heroines, this game incorporates modern gameplay and features for a highly interactive and customizable experience. You play as the protagonist Shindou Touki, who moves from the countryside to Tokyo, to begin a new chapter in his life. Navigate through various choices and the life of a high school student in the city, as Touki learns what it means to connect with others. Including over 25 hours of gameplay, detailed CG, and a moving soundtrack – all in high definition – your choices will affect the path you take.

■ SYNOPSIS

Spring Is the Season of First Meetings. On the advice of his older sister, Touki transfers into Ainoshima Gakuen in the middle of the spring term. His heart is full of expectation of a new life in the city of Tokyo, a vast contrast to the countryside that he grew up in. As he begins to settle into his new life, he encounters fresh faces in the student council president, Ayumi, and an underclassman who admires her, Kuon. What Touki was not expecting was to converge paths with Saya, his childhood friend from a few years ago, who he hadn’t talked to since a certain incident. To make matters more complicated, a mysterious transfer student arrives shortly after. She seems to loathe him immediately and Touki feels that he has met her somewhere before. Within the chaos of the present and the mystery of the past that is chasing him, there is uncertainty in the air as he forges a path towards his future and his desire to connect with others.

Tokyo Re:Connect shows a lot of promise, the art and character design is obviously beyond fantastic, the writing is great, and from what I've seen in this decently sized prologue the characters seem interesting enough and I feel the story could take a shift to a much darker tone which would be pretty cool. I did run into a few issues like the resolution not going to 4k, and the voiceover volume being linked to the BGM which was frustrating as I found the BGM overpowered the VO in many scenarios. Also regarding the VO I did find a few fudged lines like the teacher using the wrong prefecture name when talking about Saya, and while the games does use honorifics when the characters speak which is a little odd but it's thankfully never taken to the point of actually replacing English words with Japanese ones for no reason, outside of those minor complaints the voiceover was pretty good. After giving this prologue a shot I can say with confidence I'll be looking forward to playing the full game (if/when it releases) and would highly recommend at least checking out this prologue if you have a few hours to kill.

Attention: - this review may contain spoilers, if you don´t mind go ahead. - early review, dead game/ project Summary: A short F2P OELVN with anime content. Features good artwork, bgm. About: - Gameplay/ story: before anything, writing this review in 2022, seems the game is dead; the devs tried a Kickstarter campaign (2020), but was canceled (unsuccessful I guess). Anyway, this is only the prologue; the plot is about the usual school life, the MC Touki is moving from the countryside to Tokyo and starting a school life. Upon moving to Tokyo, will find his dear childhood friend, make new friends (one man and a couple of girls), and the end. So far is basically a kinetic OELVN, with a couple of moments in which will interact by clicking on some points to proceed. - VA: partial VA in english. - Artwork: pretty good - Text/translation: no problem so far Conclusion: "Tokyo Re:Connect Prologue" is a short F2P OELVN, featuring very good artwork and bgm; however only covers the prologue and right now seems to be a dead project and for that reason, I don't recommend to play, unless if you want to taste an OELVN with JP content.

Shindou Touki had to say goodbye to his friend Saya at a young age. Now in his teens, he has to move to Tokyo to live with his sister after the passing of his mother. With a new home, new city, and new school, Touki has to make new friends. He meets numerous welcoming students but he also encounters some familiar faces as well. Most of them are faculty members, however one student stands out. It's his old childhood friend, Saya. From there on, he would like a reset and start anew with Saya once again.
Pros:
1. Although it is a prologue and the story is a standard childhood friend romance, I do look forward to what will come next after the introduction of Saki! 2. All the characters are fun and all possess great personalities. Touki is a reserved bookworm. Saya can be sassy, and Ayane is caring and wants what's best for Touki.
