this game is really cool and you should support the dev, there's a lot going on under the hood and i recommend it for price.3 found this helpful
Developer is friends with an nazi loser.2 found this helpful
A foundation for a great game, it becomes repetitive after a few hours and now I have no interest in ever playing it again. With no progression system or even a leaderboard this game plunges in the realm of the 1000s of other games “potential but abandoned” 3/10 not worth your time.2 found this helpful

Pains me to leave a negative review on an indie game, I’m usually pretty tolerant with them but this isn’t really a “it’s bad, don’t buy it” type of review, it’s just a fair warning to proceed with caution and that I would specifically not recommend it if you play games with a controller (and on the Steam Deck in my case) in its current state. Torutaru has an interesting style and setup that immediately captivated me, but unfortunately the early access-ness of it all does very quickly start to show. I encountered a ton of bugs, some of which I will delve into in a bit for the developer, and the biggest issue here for me was simply the controls. It feels like a very poor design choice to assign so many different buttons to so many differeny things and it’s very hard to keep track of them all when playing on a controller - the game only shows keyboard controls, and it’s usually not too hard for me to get used to what keyboard buttons equate to what controller buttons in more than a few minutes, but Torutaru makes you use buttons like Y, N, Q, E, F, N and backspace pretty much all within the first 15 minutes. Again, this is probably fine if you’re playing on a keyboard in which case y…
Where do I start? I can't believe a game this good only has 56 other reviews at the time of writing this. ToruTaru is an up and coming cult classic I believe. The atmosphere is OPPRESSIVE to say the least. The claustrophobia and dread from each new floor you reach is pretty hard to describe without playing it yourself. And sure while this game may have it's jumpscares, the horror relies heavily on the atmosphere, environment, sound design, and the build-up to a chase, and when that chase comes? BOY does your adrenaline kick in. So far the game doesn't have an end-goal as far as I know, but the gameplay loop is entertaining and the level and entity variation is enough to keep things fresh for a while. My reason for my low play time at the posting of this review? I'm simply too scared to play it without streaming it to someone
