Players appreciate the core RTS gameplay that avoids overwhelming squad micromanagement and find it enjoyable in concept, but the game is hampered by significant technical issues including bugs that persist from years past, poor UI design, and frequent crashes that make it frustrating to play. The experience is further soured by the sense that the developers have abandoned the project, leaving it in an unpolished state that compares unfavorably to earlier entries in the series, with unresponsive unit controls and clunky mechanics that undermine what could otherwise be a solid RTS.
It's pretty but shallow. almost 10 years old at the time of me writing this and there are still insanely inconvenient bugs associated with even just single player experience. Whenever you beat a Campaign mission, you get rewards for it but the rewards arent shown to you until the next time you launch the game, and the pop up that shows you what you unlocked is hard stuck on the screen without allowing you to do anything else unless you Alt+F4 out of the game and relaunch. An absurd absurd bug that absolutely should not exist in a game with this much obvious budget allocated to it. This is the thing that RTS devs just don't understand. We don't want "production value" from RTS. we want Clear visuals, Clean responsive controls over our units, and a solid connection to multiplayer.3 found this helpful

not as bad as people make it out to be but not as good as fist two but it is a fun game
