Toy Smash Kaboom! turns the familiar idea of scattering toys across a table into a surprisingly layered strategy experience. Rather than focusing on direct control during every moment of combat, it emphasizes preparation, placement, equipment choices, unit combinations, and the satisfaction of watching a carefully constructed miniature army carry out its plan. Developed by Free Particle and published by Free Particle, Paleo, and XD, the game combines elements of auto-battlers, inventory management, roguelite progression, and asynchronous competition while wrapping everything in a colorful childhood-toy theme. The heart of the experience is assembling a Toy Legion within the limited space available on the tabletop. Choosing what to bring into battle is only part of the challenge because positioning can significantly affect how well a formation performs. Toys need to complement one another, while equipment, weapons, traps, summons, and special abilities can transform an ordinary group into a specialized fighting force.
