About Trapped Souls
Description
Lift the curse. Set them free… even angels failed to escape the dungeons of King Tarrius. Dive into a dark Looter Slasher adventure in third-person view, where you must carve your way through enemies in tense souls-like combat. You are a homunculus slave who managed to escape the mines and find yourself in the catacombs of King Tarrius’ ancient crypt. The curse of this place traps the souls of all who enter. But there is one exception. Created through magic and alchemy, you are not bound by the curse in the same way. It cannot turn you into one of the undead. That is why only you have a chance to break the ancient curse.Features:
Looter Slasher Here, survival depends on skill and risk. Grow stronger through souls-like combat mastery and by hunting for powerful gear. Attack, dodge, block — balance decides everything. A better item can drop at any moment… or you can improve the one you already have. Items can be enchanted with magical properties and enhanced by socketing gems to gain additional effects such as fire damage or poison resistance. Three Curses of the Crypt The deeper you descend, the higher the stakes. Death costs you all the loot you have found. On the final level, you will also lose all the experience you gained. Will you risk going further… or retreat while you still can? Roguelike Dungeon To reach the boss, you must survive a chain of dangerous trials in dark dungeons. Your progress depends on dice rolls — choose the outcome and face the challenge. Behind every door awaits either valuable loot… or a fatal mistake. Splitscreen Co-op Play solo or join forces with friends in co-op mode for up to 4 players. Each player has their own loot, gold, and character progression. Part of the No King No Kingdom Universe The events of Trapped Souls take place nearly a thousand years after No King No Kingdom. You will encounter characters, references, and echoes of that era. Will you free Trapped Souls… or become another lost soul?DLC & expansions

This game is great!, I don't understand some bad reviews over the interface, its fine, I played it with some friends, 4 local co-op, its the most fun we've had since Magicka and others alike.....3 found this helpful
Awesome game. Tons of fun!! I met the developer online and he hooked me up with a copy but worth more than the $3 it costs!!2 found this helpful
I quite digging it. So it's a souls-like dungeon crawler game. Too bad that the development progress only continued recently. So many to improve like the character's skin changing when equiping different clothing with different styles, enviromental voices, elemental voices, NPC or even character voices, and many more! Hoping for the best for this game as I have positive direction towards it and the developer(s). Hoping many more contents to come.1 found this helpful
Game looks far better in the video shown via steam than it does on your screen once you buy it. The character is a lumpy humunculus (sp?) and while the dev could've done far more with the story of the character that's the extent of what we get from the game. The game handles the character (the one you control who has no name and nothing indicating what he/she actually really is) very awkwardly. It's cute at first until you actually try to play the game itself and find out that movement sucks; that getting through traps is a crap shoot and that you might as well try to run around traps because the timing is likely to just 1 shot you anyways. Only worthwhile stat to level seems to be health because anything else doesn't equate to anything of value from my meager testing. Game might be a "full release" but plays like an EA game and acts like it at times from it's wonkiness with traps and mechanics. No story to tell, no real plot line and nothing much just a dungeon crawler and a strange character with no name. Thumbs down from me. 1/5 Stars Sorry dev ya lost me on this one.
https://youtu.be/le_DRY3P7ww Clunky is the most generous description of the character movement and control for this lumpy protagonist.
Revisited after beta update and am really impressed. Very fun and charming game with some surprising difficulty if you want it. It feels classic and original at the same time somehow. Really cool vibe and fun levels with a good variety of encounters and mechanics. Considering how many fresh starts I have mounted already in this game it has been worth 10x what I paid. Definitely one that makes you wanna immediately try again another way. Highly recommended.
