About Soul Shifter

In a faraway kingdom, it was discovered one certain kind of magical energy extracted from strange elemental portals that appeared on the land. Obsessed with the power, the ruler of the land, The Monarch, was abused by the magical portals and the creatures that lived in these strange worlds that the portals led. Various researches were made until, one day, everything collapses. A massive explosion happens and the castle of The Monarch was partially destroyed and trapped in an alternated dimension between the realms that the portals gave access.

You don't remember your past, who you used to be, or if one day you were something. The only thing you know is that the dungeon summons you, calls you, and you are lured for it. With the ability to use the elemental energy that led the kingdom to ruins fight the monsters that now habit the inner castle and make your way to the last of the floors of the castle.

Explore Interdimensional Dungeons

In Soul Shifter the player is placed in the role of a strange boy who ends up venturing into different portals exploring what was once the ancient castle of one of the most powerful kingdoms that history has ever known.

The castle's outer layers became ruins, yet the portals created by the explosion were no longer closed. Now strange creatures come out of the portals and exhibit the natures of an unknown world, along with this the main regions of the castle were trapped in a space-time mess, with rooms being repositioned at all times and the lack of a minimally defined temporal continuity.

Discover the secrets of a place lost in space-time

The regions belonging to the castle have now become a confusing prison, their rooms are full of creatures and ancient inhabitants of the castle, driven by madness and succumbed to elemental energy. Despite all this, however, some former inhabitants of the castle remain there, living in a random prison that constantly defies their own sanity.

Use magical powers and find out about your history

The main character can absorb the powers left by the souls of the Elemental Lords. Use this to your advantage and create effective combinations and strategies to combat the challenges you face

Play with your friends

The entire Soul Shifter campaign can (and perhaps should) be played with two players, both of whom have access to elemental powers and have a story for which the dungeon summons them.

✦ AI summary

Players appreciate this early-access indie roguelike for its charming weirdness, voice acting, and fun multiplayer potential, but note it suffers from rough presentation issues like text that moves too fast to read, unclear mechanics (what currency and collectibles do), and frustrating controls that fight against simple actions. The story feels vague and needs grammar fixes and clearer writing, though some find the core gameplay decent enough for casual weekend play despite its imperfections.

LOCK THE MOUSE TO THE GAME WINDOW, depending on how you made it it is 1 line of code or a toggle in the engine. Hey Thanks to the Dev's for the game key, I would normally post a Video on the review but you can just check out the channel . The game looks and almost functions like an average roguelike game. but I don't want to go into a huge rant as this game was made by 3 people, and is in early access. Text goes by too fast for scripted conversations, the intro and when you talk to any NPC that auto speaks to you. No idea what money is used for, OR what the skulls you collect do. The storyline is vague and all I know is doors/portal hacky slashy Needs grammar and spelling checked, and maybe a rewrite so that way I can understand what some of these people are talking about. The weapons are all temporary, and not abundant at all... I kept running out and stuck with my slow recharge skill. The Melee weapons are a usage based as well even if you are not hitting anything, When you die you start over, and I mean from 0, you lose everything, even your happiness. the opnly thing that saves is that you don't have to talk to them every time you start. So I am not sure how to really…

It' Definitely not perfect neither a life changing game, but is fun to spent some time in the weekends playing, especially with friends. The history also has some cool points.

super weird game (in a good way) The controller support is very iffy I KNOW THE GAME DOES NOT SUPPORT CONTROLLERS AS PER THE STORE PAGE. Is a nice well crafted indie game - also it has voice actors. Quite nice. If you can, try this little gem.

I love dungeon crawlers and I love roguelites, so this game should have been right up my alley. Unfortunately, it manages to complicate simple game mechanics (ranged weapon use, for example) and I found myself fighting the controls the entire time I played. There are pieces of a decent game here, but not enough for me to recommend it.
