The Lost Land...
A world where time has no meaning - and evil knows no bounds. Torn from a world long gone, the time traveling warrior Turok has found himself thrust into a savage land torn by conflict. An evil overlord known as 'The Campaigner' seeks to shred the fabric of time and rule the universe using an ancient artifact known as 'The Chronoscepter'. The Chronoscepter was shattered thousands of years ago in an effort to keep it from falling into evil hands. The Campaigner has constructed a massive focusing array which he plans to use to magnify and pervert the power of the Chronoscepter in order to shatter the barriers between the ages and rule the universe. Turok has vowed to find the eight pieces of the Chronoscepter spread throughout the Lost Land and put an end to The Campaigner's evil plot...

I struggled to get into the original N64 and even this game on the steam deck. But once I started playing with mouse and keyboard, which allowed me to move, look, and jump at the same time, I was zipping around at light speed and enjoying a classic boomer shooter.3 found this helpful
This rocks, now remake Turok: Evolution The best one in the original trilogy1 found this helpful
love this game, i remember playing it 25 years ago and was mind blowing, still great
Without nostalgia goggles this game has aged extremely poorly. Its a pain in the ass. Everything about it. The platforming is the worst part. Honestly I could forgive everything else if not for the god awful platforming. Where are Turoks feet? You don't know. Turok doesn't know. Turoks feet don't know. No you aren't tripping balls. Yes you did time the jump perfectly. Rather you would have if the game gave you any indicator where you are in the air in relation to where you are trying to land. I cant tell if the camera is 2 feet ahead of Turoks legs or 2 feet behind them. Either way you are going down. Honest to god every level I kept thinking there's an item I have to collect that enables double jump or a jetpack because only a jackass would design platforms like this.
Back when I was little, my dad used to have this game on N64, but now, I don't have to deal with the Look Spring on this one. Only difference, is on level one, they changes things around in the second key location. Overall, the remaster is amazing, and all is left is Turok Evolution, and can't wait for Turok Origins.
