Uchi No Heya!

JUST ONE MORE RUUUUUN This game has taken up my attention and time, I'm so addicted. Hugely recommended for anyone who's a fan of Sumo, or is even interested in getting their feet wet.

This game has a seriously good gameplay loop. Trying to push my Rikishi to become stars give me so much joy. I've been waiting for a sumo manager game to appear and this one delivers.

Great endless "number go up" game. Hardcore adds a good bit of difficulty and the RNG can end some runs, but the game just has the stuff that makes you want to keep playing. Theres still some bugs and quirks, but hopefully the dev sticks with it and this can become a game that you could play forever.

Sumo fans have wanted a game to represent their obsession for a while. But how do you get a genuinely entertaining gaming experience out of a sport that most observers experience as a hundred short bursts of frantic energy and most athletes experience as endless stretches of back-breaking tedium? Uchi No Heya! answers that question surprisingly well. As stablemaster, you direct (but not control) your rikishi in the ring and keep them from each other's throats in the off season, all while staving off inquiries from the JSA who will crack down on the slightest hint of mismanagement. Gameplay-wise it's fun and rewarding with pixel art that is necessarily primitive but gets the job done and has a charm of its own. The only thing I can really criticize about Uchi No Heya! is that, like a lot of management sims, it can get very easy very quickly once you've mastered it. But that's a minor flaw and one that the dev has been continually addressing with new challenges and fresh updates. Definitely recommended for anyone counting down the days to the next basho. HAKKEYOI.

I don't attempt to review often, but they deserve it. At 6 hours, I think I got the hang of the basic game. No yokozuna though. Speaking English and finding sumo only recently, this game requires a lot of clicking back and forth for reference, either done to understand how combinations of traits work, or to figure out why a certain color always seem to end in -kiri. Since this is such a unique game, I don't mind at all. Any game that makes me jump up in the air as something happens, such as that first kachi-koshi in Makuuchi. Someone else will leave a better synopsis and summary for the game mechanics. I'm not here for the graphics, I'm here for the very enjoyable game play. **after the first update, the QOL improvements are headed in a great direction. My only request is to be able to change resolution, to be able to see all 8 rikishi pre/post match without having to scroll.

This game is very addicting. You constantly are finding yourself wanting to play one more tournament or add one more wrestler to your stable.
