About Ultimate Word Search 2: Letter Boxed
Ultimate Word Search 2: Letter Boxed takes you into a world of mystery where your task is to locate hidden words in a matrix of letters. Each matrix contain words that wrap around a 3D-cube going left, right, up and down. There are 24 words to discover and the game includes 84 English word categories featuring random words from a large vocabulary of options. To select a word you touch the first letter of the word. Then touch the last letter of the word. You can and may need to spin the cube in between touching the letters. You can actually touch the last letter first and first last. Words can go left, right, up or down so look for them in reverse order as well. Often, the words you need to find will wrap around the sides of the cube adding to the fun. No game will ever play the same and only true wordsmiths will beat this ultimate word-challenge.

Has a functional iteration of a 3D word search game been made in the past ten years? Does it require VR? A bespoke six-screen cube? I ask because I had to question whether the technology was there yet when this game came out. Whether on mouse or arrow keys, it’s such a pain to keep the letters right-side-up. The game should have worked like this: snap the camera on to one of the faces, have the controller or arrow keys turn the cube up, down, and side-to-side, and have one extra button to rotate the cube’s current face until the letters are upright. I know that negates the ambitious attempt to allow the player to look at the cube from different angles, but this game was simply not prepared to deliver on such a lofty promise. If it were possible to move the cube without giving myself a headache, I might give this game a pity thumbs up. I appreciate the choice to avoid intersecting words, allowing you to narrow your search as you make progress, as well as the nice click-clack that comes from uncovering a word. The game is just too half-assed. I mean, they left the checklist in Arial font. ARIAL. FONT.
I love this thing because playing it lowers my stress and helps me cope with my fears and worries. This thing is one of my many belongings.
The controls are a bit weird but its solid. There are 84 level to play across the 4 menus, and you could go for those 3 star runs. the music leaves a bit to be desired but nothing that muting and putting on your own tunes can't fix.
A good idea absolutely marred by horrific controls
