About Unholy

Open the doors between your everyday reality and a dark unholy world to unveil the mystery of the disappearance of your child. Explore both worlds to find clues, solve puzzles, decide whether you infiltrate or fight brutal enemies and stand up to an aberrant establishment.

  • Two parallel worlds to explore. The grey and cold reality on a brutalist post-soviet Eastern European town and the creepy and twisted world of Unholy, a grotesque society ruled by a relentless priest caste.
  • An unsettling horror experience driven by an intense narrative with captivating visuals based on the works of reputed dark artist Tomasz Strzałkowski (Duality Games Art director and founder)..
  • A unique gameplay blend that combines meticulous exploration, intriguing puzzle solving, infiltration and stealth with innovative shooting dynamics.
  • A versatile unique weapon. Use four different emotions: anger, fear, sadness and desire to interact with the environment (destroy obstacles, trigger mechanisms, overload circuits, illuminate your way) or to confuse, lure or damage your opponents.
  • Masks! Everybody in the unholy world hides behind a mask and it can be the difference between life or death. Build your own mask to get new skills and improve your abilities or wear other masks to infiltrate, confuse your enemies and impersonate your opponents.

I would recommend NOT BUYING this game, even on sale. It comes with game-breaking issues, like save file corruption. One look in the Discussion forum will show multiple threads about crashing. As for me... there I was, about to finish the short Chapter 4, when you stumble upon some looming 'father figure' in the distance. He froze, I froze, the screen was entirely non responsive and so I had to force-close the game. From that time on, I could never reload it again. I'd played 4 hours so past the refund time, sadly, otherwise I'd have ejected this horror show! There's no way to load an 'alternate save', it's just the one and done. And it was done! While I was playing, some of the 'action scenes' were annoying because of the clunky controls. I don't like dying in a game when it's my fault, I *hate* dying when it's the fault of janky controls. Now the story was compelling, the graphics were REALLY GOOD, the details of the scenery were amazing. Too amazing, it seems, for my 4090 to be able to run without issue. Maybe you 5080s can have a go! (the whole time I spent typing this, was the 4th time I tried reload the save after a full reboot, no dice! STEER CLEAR!!)

I really liked the experience, a good chill horror game filled with creepy moments and without cheap jumpscares (but I was still tense by moments) If you're into aesthetic in a very dark atmosphere with an easy going story but still challenging this is for you I wouldn't pay attention to the bad comments, I didn't played it that sneaky, enemy's are pretty straight forward once you understand how they work

Unholy, developed by Duality Games and published under 505 Pulse, is a psychological horror adventure that attempts to blend stealth, puzzle-solving, exploration, and narrative into a grim and unsettling experience. At its core, the story follows Dorothea, a mother whose young son Gabriel is sacrificed by a secretive cult. Stricken by grief and desperation, she pursues him into a twisted alternate dimension known as the Eternal City, a place where masks, rituals, and emotions dictate the rules of survival. This premise establishes the emotional weight that drives the game forward, giving players both a personal and symbolic reason to navigate its sinister environments. The idea of using emotions not only as narrative themes but also as functional mechanics sets Unholy apart in concept, though the execution doesn’t always reach the same level of ambition. The most striking aspect of Unholy is its atmosphere and visual design. The environments draw heavily from Eastern European influences, particularly brutalist architecture and decayed industrial spaces that evoke a sense of bleakness and oppression. The contrast between the drab, suffocating real-world settings and the grotesque, …

Unholy is a really scary and exciting horror game. I love the strong story about saving a child and the amazing dark graphics that make it feel real.
