About Union of Gnomes: Prologue

Is this just the beginning or the end? The boundary blurs and the tale unfolds like an old map, its edges worn by time. But what is happening? The question echoes through the caverns of forgotten lore.

In the basement’s darkness, where cobwebs cling to to wooden beams like the memory of a lost loved one, dreams and truths entwine. The world lies far, far away — its secrets veiled. What has happened to it? Or perhaps, what would have happened? This dream, a fragile tapestry, unravels against the cosmic loom of life.

All is weird

  • The Master’s will, an iron decree, governs the broken kingdom of Gnomes.
  • A dark mission, veiled in shadows, beckons only in the Prologue’s hallowed pages. The ink smells of ancient forests, and the parchment cradles forgotten oaths.
  • See what the Kingdom will become, should you falter. The Gnomes’ destiny rests upon your trembling hands — their hopes, sorrows, their whispered lullabies.
  • And there, amidst the gnarled roots, a voice in your head murmurs cryptic riddles. Is it memory or prophecy? Listen closely.

Escape from the nightmare, dear wanderer. Traverse the labyrinth of ink, blood, and imagination. Finish the prologue, and perhaps — just perhaps — you’ll glimpse something else: a door ajar, a glimmer of forgotten magic, a path diverging into the unknown.

This is a good interesting Slay the Spire inspired game. I like the level up system. One thing I found out which is minor, On the Thief card, it says "buggs" which I think you meant "buffs". It's confusing and I thought there was an effect called "buggs" in the game (seriously). Would be nice if you change this.

I am a self proclaimed "The Prologue Guy" and i approve of this half baked. ( ദ്ദി ˙ᗜ˙ )

First of all, I really liked the graphics and animation Feels original and interesting . Please delete the sausage mechanics. It's just bad and it add nothing to the game . The font is very boring and very small. Most of the time I blink just to see what's written on the screen. I feel like it's a mistake. You have the whole thing with the dwarves. Use it to make it more lively, fun, and bigger to read. I hate that the screen blur on purpose it hurt my eyes in it make no sense and why i cant hover over the enemy to see there effect its the most basic thing in this games Overall, there's a lot of potential here. It just needs a lot of work.

A solid roguelite deckbuilder with a lot of charm. The game feels very much like Slay the Spire, but with some noticeable differences. You keep armor at the end of your turn, allowing both you and your enemies to stockpile your defenses. There are also a whole lot of status conditions, as well as a level-up system to provide some meta progression. For the main game, though, one strategy seems to be the clear best, which is poison. Just poison everybody until they die, and most status effects no longer hurt you. Miko is also way better than the other captain, since Miko refreshes mana at the start of each turn. The other guy doesn't, making him almost useless long term. He's also way worse at poison. I have mixed feelings on the sausage mechanic where you need to keep your resources stocked to travel. It essentially forces you to micromanage your deck so you can keep moving, but since you can't get rid of troops easily, it usually results in you not taking any gnome rewards. Whether you think this is a good thing or not is up to you, but I wasn't the biggest fan. The game's general balance system is good though (if you're using Miko) and the art style is gorgeous.

Feels like walking into a minefield of bad choices with little to know ability to learn without grind. Lots of weird cards that seemingly have negatives or positives. Slow mana regen (one per turn only), some food based mechanic in which if you run out you lose cards every overworld turn, and a bunch of other really odd stuff. This is a very masochistic game. I am not the biggest fan of the art style, either, but that's subjective. I play a lot of these, but out the gate, it felt pretty RNG dependent more than other deckbuilders, as well. Maybe more control opens up. Leveling up your character seems neat, but that's just another way for a player to screw themselves over (you have to farm reset resources instead of it just being free... feels dumb when resetting your deck is free!). Also, weird visual effects that cannot be disabled. Don't like those. The humor of the game I also didn't care. Lots of pointless dialog and "quest events" where you play a Choose Your Own Adventure style thing for random outcomes. Unlike StS, these can be long, even full "runs" are just those type. Don't like that, as well. There's nothing functionally wrong that I can tell, just a lot of…
