About Unknown TD

Welcome to Unknown TD!Unknown TD is a Tower defense game, with multiple interesting features in the works, we're happy to provide fun semi-casual game for you to enjoy! With a handful of maps and towers along with a hero tower for the player to play around with.

The hero towerThe hero tower has a lot of customisation coming to it in future updates, not only limited to pistols, flamethrowers and sun glasses, but a wide array of cosmetics, weapons and abilities! The game also features...Unique and ... interesting ... towers!
Unknown TD has (finally) got a good selection of (yet again) very unique and interesting towers. Some more practical, some more chaotic and others more Dinghy-tower-like (interesting) than others.
The game is currently in an unfinished state, with plenty more content to come in the form of gamemodes, towers, maps, hero equipment and much much more. Enjoy the (for now) early access game!

When I first discovered Unknown TD, it was one of those quiet little indie tower-defense games that had promise. It wasn’t perfect — no small project is — but it had a rhythm, a clarity, and a simplicity that made it oddly satisfying. It was the kind of game I’d play after a long day, leaning back in my chair with my big belly pressed against the edge of my desk, letting waves of enemies roll through while I tinkered with tower placements. It wasn’t flashy, but it was fun. Then came the Refinement Update. The name sounded good — who doesn’t want refinement? But in practice, it didn’t refine much. It redefined, restricted, and in a lot of ways, ruined what worked. The biggest misstep, by far, was the new Tower Tech Tree system. It was sold as a structured way to progress — research your towers, unlock them in proper order, and build your strategy step by step. But in execution, it stripped away the best part of Unknown TD: freedom. Before this update, players could experiment. You could try different tower combinations right away, test ideas, and find what suited your playstyle. Now, every choice is gated behind some “research” requirement. You don’t get to discover anymore — you…

💬 Steam Review: Unknown TD ⭐ Rating: “Tower Defense? More like Tower Disappointment.” 🕒 Hours Played: 0.3 (and that was generous) Started the game. Built a tower. Watched enemies walk by. Built another tower. Watched myself question my life choices. The game has about as much content as a PowerPoint presentation on tower defense theory. There are 11 towers, but they all feel like the same one wearing different hats. The maps? Imagine five slightly different rectangles. Riveting. My hero had three weapons, which is two more than the game has reasons to exist right now. Every round feels like déjà vu, except somehow less exciting. I tried to lose on purpose just to feel something, but even the defeat screen looked bored. Developers say “more content coming soon,” which I’m sure is code for “we’re currently googling how to make fun.” Pros: The uninstall button works perfectly. You can alt-tab to play a better tower defense game. Gives you plenty of time to reflect on your bad purchasing decisions. Cons: Feels like a group project where only one person showed up. Strategy level: kindergarten sandbox. Couldn’t even defend my own patience. 💀 Final Verdict: Unknown TD t…
