Unpetrified: Echoes of Nature is a cozy puzzle-adventure game where you play as a stone golem traveling through a colorful world alongside a fox companion. Pros ✔️ Extremely relaxing to play - The whole game is built around reconnecting with nature and helping it flourish in a gentle, thoughtful way. ✔️ Small missions and puzzles keep things moving - There’s always something to do without it ever feeling overwhelming or difficult. ✔️ Consistently cute and charming - From the animals to the environments, it leans fully into being soft and comforting. Cons ❌ Controller recognition can be finicky - I ran into moments where inputs didn’t register properly. ❌ Movement speed feels slow - Especially considering how long some of the paths are. ❌ The compass could be clearer - At times it’s hard to tell if you missed something or if you’re meant to loop back later. Conclusion This was exactly the kind of game I needed. I went in feeling pretty stressed, and not long after starting I realized how calm I felt just moving through the world and helping things grow again. TLDR: probably a pass, ui is obtuse for those who like to collect/complete games, puzzles are just okay with clunky feedback from your companion. Updated review: Playing this game can be frustrating, the character can get stuck in the environment while rolling. Can get softlocked while using environmental objects and achievements/100%ing seems completely unfun. Finding all animals in an area is obtuse with no meaningful ui to tell you how many are left. I think the butterfly compass is supposed to help with this but it doesn’t. The compass are butterflies that surround you and point to… things? Plants? The animals your looking for? It just points at everything and i stopped using it pretty much immediately. The fox is clumsy with poor user feedback, you have one button to control him. When you tell him to sit your character slaps their knee and points trlling him to stay. When you press it again telling him to come theres no feedback except the fox starts moving eventually. It doesnt feel good to Perform puzzles with him. Its okay, but not great. Lastly the puzzles are pretty much just activate switches and sometimes have the fox sit on them. Maybe more variety after 5 hours but…

this looks like a cute little game, maybe even a child's game. It is not. While the graphics are charming, the puzzles are quite challenging. I am really enjoying this game.

I had a difficult start with this game as I got softlocked on multiple occasions, but the devs were very responsive and worked hard to get patches out. The difficulty at first is pretty much "walking simulator" but the puzzles do eventually get pretty complex and fun! For a game with very simple mechanics, it is surprisingly engaging. There is no dialogue in the game, but it still manages to tell a very emotional story. The animals in the game are adorable and I really enjoyed rescuing them all and collecting the items in each area. The butterfly compass mechanic was unique, and I really enjoyed it once I got used to it. The only thing missing is there is no chapter selection, so if you miss a collectable, you might not get all of the achievements. Sadly, I missed one collectable and so I'm lacking a couple of achievements. Within the levels, there isn't an indication for some of the collectables, so you really need to search if you want to get all of the achievements on a first pass.

such a glorious game! so much more content than i would have ever thought, in a beautiful environment full of things to explore. 10/10 - large scale environmental puzzles, pretty visuals, the ability to roll around as a rock, and an adorable fox friend! would recommend. game gets better as you go, and so increases your inner peace
