UsoNatsu ~The Summer Romance Bloomed From A Lie~

Such a sweet and beautifully crafted visual novel, everything about it is just very pretty lol. The reason this even caught my attention was the art, and it's indeed gorgeous all along - the artstyle is outstanding and high in detail, and provides the CGs and characters with plenty of liveliness and emotion. Especially the animated character models are very cute and expressive. The soundtrack and atmosphere are lovely, providing the game with a really pleasant feel. The story itself is overall simple slice-of-life yet reflects a multitude of different realistic topics and events which vary between silly and dark, and from my perception are quite well executed. I found the plot entertaining to follow most of the time and enjoyed learning more about the characters. Honestly I'd wished that the story delved more thoroughly into the side characters (I'd even happily replace the protagonist with one of them) but the entire cast still managed to stand out. The only major problems I encountered were technical, although it's potentially my trashy PC's fault. Usonatsu is a very enjoyable visual novel that feature great art style , music and voice acting. The story tackle many aspect of high school adolescence and and think it did a great jobs . Most of the time its cute and heartwarming but once in a while it will took you for a spin with bit and pieces of mature subject. The pacing of the story is good and it took me around 12 hours to complete so I'm happy and satisfied with my purchase. I would give the game a great 9 out of 10 and would recommend it if you enjoy the yuri gerne of visual novel.

Very sweet game with a lot of emotional drama. I feel like I just went through a rollercoaster. Maybe some lack of communication but ultimately with the story some of the lack of communication made sense to me. It's one of those stories that is so well written that I hope there's a spinoff where you can learn more about the side characters. Art is beautiful with live2d models and there's a surprising amount of backgrounds all of good quality in this game. Hope to see more from this developer!

UsoNatsu is a kinetic novel that is as much about entering adulthood and dealing with difficult emotions as it is about romance. It deals with some complicated themes, and uses characters who straddle childhood and adulthood to show that there are layers even to situations that initially look one-sided. I enjoyed the characters and their growth throughout the game, including how they lean on each other to improve in ways they couldn't alone. The game's premise of creating new memories in old places is a jumping-off point for character relationships, and a way to speed across a lot of different emotions in a short span of time - expect many of the usual beats from anime school drama to still happen here. If 'complicated themes' sounds a little too vague and you don't mind slight spoilers, some of the issues dealt with include [spoiler]student-teacher relationships, self-harm and domestic abuse[/spoiler]. While they were all treated with a certain amount of nuance, I think the game tends to fall on the side of "well, people have their reasons and it all kind of worked out" to let some worrying behaviour (especially from adults who should know/act better) off the hook.
