About Utopia Colony
The year is 2033. You, an ex-Marine with little opportunities left, have signed up with Utopia Arura, a large mining corporation on Mars. They have sent you to a location they have proposed but you have chosen for mining. Everything else is up to you.
Operate a mining outpost on Mars. You start out with a small base. You can earn credits (the currency on Mars in 2033) by mining rocks around the base for ore. When you have earned enough credits, you can purchase a rover that enables you to drive out and mine rocks farther out. You can upgrade the base, build it out with more buildings, equipment, etc. There are many missions and tasks that must be performed to progress in the game and earn credits.
The first part of the game is about mining rocks for ore. Explore the area around the station and you will find rocks that contain valuable ore. Mine the rocks and bring the ore back to the base.

When you have made enough credits from mining rocks, you will be able to purchase a rover vehicle. The rover enables you to drive out and mine rocks that are farther away from the base.

Solar flares will periodically cause high radiation levels on the surface of Mars, since the atmosphere is thin. You need to seek shelter in the Rua 51 underground mining facility when the radiation levels get too high on the surface.

You can sell the ore that you mine using the management user interface at the base. Just click the "sell ore" button, and you will sell ore at the current market price and earn credits. You can use the credits to buy upgrades, equipment, repairs, food, water, etc.

Go on missions to outposts, facilities, the domed colony, etc. Research tasks become available when you have upgraded your base to the highest level, and have hired a researcher. There are different tasks at different locations.
You can buy and sell ore in the marketplace when the station has been upgraded. Prices in the marketplace fluctuate, so it is possible to make or loose credits.
Dust storms can happen at any time on Mars. Dust storms are dangerous because they can be very disorienting and affect communication. You can run out of oxygen if you get lost in a dust storm.
Enjoy several hours of gameplay in solitude on Mars, mining for ore, operating your base station, driving your rover, etc. This may be a good game for you if you like space games and are tired of action-packed shooting games.
The game is set somewhere in Utopia Planitia on Mars. Utopia Planitia (Greek and Latin: "Nowhere Land Plain") is a large plain within Utopia, the largest recognized impact basin on Mars and in the Solar System with an estimated diameter of 3,300 km. Plenty of space and opportunities for anyone who wishes to try ones luck as a prospector.

This is a pleasant game. For $5.09 I got 20ish hours of entertainment. It might be a little slow moving for some as there is no combat. The mechanics are a little awkward but doable. Overall a 6 out of 10.2 found this helpful
finished the game. It was supposed to be about mining but no way to scan for deposits or any real indication of where to look for them. The whole loop is make money upgrade your base drop research equipment off that for some reason costs the player money for completing the task. The Rovers are frustratingly slow for such a huge map and can't roll over the smallest of inclines. No power to them, even when fully upgraded. It is a game of run over there drop this off or pick this up before your o2 runs out. If you get your rover stuck in a little ditch (that it has no business getting stuck in in the first place) it's game over because there is no way to get anywhere that has o2. If you are into driving around the martian landscape just to chill and listen to the same 2 tracks over and over then this will be a game for you.1 found this helpful
For me, this is an ideal game of exploration and mild missions. There are no hordes of aliens trying to kill me every time I go out to explore or run a mission. Graphics are nice as well.1 found this helpful
Not finished despite being called 1.0 released. Abandonware. It had interesting potential that will never be developed.
GridSky Software has 3 games out as of today. I did look at game update histories and user response/activities in forums so I had very low expectations when I bought a heavily discounted "package". With a cost in line with renting a movie the economic risk was minimal. Sadly I got exactly what I expected. Create a standard set of assets, make some nice looking models/skins and rip off some basic features from other games and you have exactly what you find in the games - Alien AI, Belt Colony and Utopia Colony. I get a distinct feeling that devs hide behind the "Early Access" label to avoid to much focus on how empty the games actually are. There is no reason to expect anything more than some basic error fixes when/if a full version ever is going to be launched. It is much more likely that there will be yet another new game launched in to early access - more or less a straight forward reskin of the previous ones. So how bad is it? I will use the newest as an example as this was the only one I decided to finish regardless as it was the newest of the developers games and as such should be the best. Utopia Colony can offer approx 10 hours of light entertainment and the main reason it…
Love the struggle for survival! Even if it is not upfront and flashing with red lights! Love the journal left behind that Glorifies Jesus Christ! Love how challenging this game is! I have died twice now as I write this lol! "Note" Pay attention to everything on your hud lol! 4.5 out of 5 stars!
