After beating the first boss I can already see the depth of gameplay and builds I'm gonna be exploring and tinkering with for hours to come. Fun game2 found this helpful
The Vaporsynth visuals are great and the soundtrack really sets the mood for your adventure as a holographic lightsaber cat. However I feel like the gameplay has some flaws. While there are many different builds you can go, it's clear that building around the special attack is always the best, and the way you unlock different upgrades seems really random and you'd have to play for a while just hoping that a new upgrade shows up if you want to unlock it. I beat all the areas and bosses in the game and still only have a little over half the upgrades. My other main issue with the gameplay is that during boss fights, or when there's just a lot of enemies around, my framerate drops a ton, and in a game where you need to constantly be dodging enemies and projectiles, it can be detrimental to a run. Lastly, I feel like unless this game gets more updates, there's just not enough content. 10 USD for about 5 hrs of gameplay isn't worth it to me, especially for a roguelike, and I really don't feel the urge to keep playing for all the achievements. Overall the vibes kind of carried the game for me, but even with it's flaws the gameplay is still fun. I'd recommend if you really like vaporwave a…2 found this helpful
Seems like a endless game done well. The game was fun and challenging. I really like the enemy designs. They are relentless and scary and have nice attack patterns and movements. I usually dont play these types of games but i did the atmosphere. It took me a second to get it. Going from portal to portal and each portal giving you a perk. I just need to figure out how to get more health. Give it a try.1 found this helpful
So after finally taking the second boss down with me after several previous failed attempts, I think I can safely say I really like this game. I have been having lots of fun exploring the many skill combinations that can be acquired and am relishing discovering many new ones that yet await me.1 found this helpful
This game is amazing and you should totally get it. It's incredible what one person can make. The game is fun, silly, has lovely music and looks amazing whether you have an older system or you're playing in high resolution with a good refresh rate. I played the demo during Steam Fest and instantly knew it's a must buy on launch. I've not had much time to play recently but I will definitely finish it when I can - it is hard though, which is a good thing as it presents you with a challenge. P.S. I feel special for knowing what the cat's name is :)1 found this helpful
The game is rather clunky with the controls, having almost exclusively melee based combat in a bullet-hell styled game, enemy wise, makes it rather hard to survive. Not to mention the variety of enemies run dry rather quick.
