Veranoia: Nightmare of Case 37

You are placed in the shoes of Vera, a special investigator who can enter dead people’s minds to uncover what happened to them and ultimately see how they died or who murdered them. Her latest case involves Zoe, a journalist who got too close to an organization that kidnaps people. However, by entering Zoe’s mind, it soon becomes obvious that the organization, which can control nightmares, has set a trap for Vera, who must now push through everything it throws at her. The gameplay focuses on moving forward through mostly linear stages. The first stage takes place in a house where you can interact with wisps that reveal Zoe’s thoughts and search for keys that open locked doors. These wisps are found throughout the game, and they reveal the full story if you interact with every one you encounter. After solving a simple puzzle in the final room and going through the door, you find yourself in a completely different environment. This becomes the main gimmick of the game, as chapters alternate between stages that involve a house with doors and dungeon like areas. Enjoyed the premise, fun little story, could be a setup for much more. Could use some more video options, like V-sync, windowed mode and more than 1080p resolution, but all that can be figure out in the .ini at least (AppData\Local\Veranoia\Saved\Config\Windows)

Not bad, a decent short horror experience. There were a few moments that were frustrating but not too hard to push through with a little bit of patience. I love the concept.

Actually geniunely scary game that had me whispering curses under my breath, really cool

Overall a fun and enjoyable game. the story is also pretty interesting.
