About Vestaria Saga II: The Sacred Sword of Silvanister

Vestaria Saga is a strategy RPG series where positioning, movement, and weaponry are paramount to success. Move your heavily armed units around a classically styled grid-based map and engage pirates, rebels, monsters, imperial soldiers, and anyone else that stands in your way.

While Vestaria Saga I chronicled the battles that ensued in the Solvian-Meledian War, Vestaria Saga II focuses on the further adventures of Zade, the hero from VS1, bringing the tales of him and his companions to a thrilling, satisfying end. Across his epic quest, Zade will encounter allies both new and old while also uncovering more of the mysteries behind the vile Margulites and their plan to plunge Vestaria into a new age of darkness.

Story

After a ship carrying a Solvian imperial diplomat was mistakenly set ablaze in Meledian waters, the Solvian Emperor Manneus declared war on the island kingdom. Led by the famed general Ajax, Solvia's imperial forces soon invaded Meledian shores. Once Meleda suffered a critical defeat in the Battle of Frist, the Empire quickly swooped in to seize the royal capital of Regina. Crushed beyond any hope of recovery, Meleda was forced to watch its invaders brutally wipe 500 years of history right off the face of the map. And so, one year passed... Once thought to have gone missing, the young princess Athol miraculously returned to the royal capital and freed its people through a furious battle.

The one who fought valiantly by her side and helped lead her to victory was none other than Zadrian, the young heir to Redessa. Meleda praised Zadrian as a national hero, showering him with fame and glory that far exceeded what they had once shown his elder brother Zecharias, the kingdom's finest knight. Zech was not only engaged to the princess, he was also the acting commander of the Meledian army... And most importantly, he was Zade's big brother– the man who Zade loved and respected more than anyone else. Feeling like his very presence had become a stain on his dear brother's reputation, Zade decided to leave the capital and set off on a new journey to the Temenos of Vesta. He took with him on his quest only a single traveling companion: Accorte Roland, a student of Sphire's magic academy and the daughter of a man who once saved Zade's life...
Do not buy this game, you cannot beat it.
By no means is this a bad game, it's actually great. However, there is a bug still present as of October 2025 that renders the game impossible to complete. The bug, "Error: singleton\singleton-itemcontrol.js Line 394: Type mismatch" occurs whenever you trade an item from one unit to an empty inventory slot of another unit, and it crashes the game (you can't fix this by editing any game files or by attempting it on the Japanese version). In both Vestaria Saga 1 and 2, trading an item with another item or using the stockpile to deposit/withdraw items can circumvent this bug. However, in Vestaria Saga 2, you will not be able to progress past Chapter 23 due to this bug. Chapter 23 is a prison map with over 6 cells that need to be opened in order to progress, and there's an enemy who drops "Emma's Ring of Keys" when killed. They function as a Master Key but can only be used by Emma, who happens to be in one of the cells. Emma has an empty inventory. She cannot use a weapon to kill the enemy herself, and the bug means you cannot trade the keys to her without crashing your game, rendering it impossible. This bug has appare…

Absolutely, it's very identical to the first game visually. The improvements are: you can save at any time now, there is a promotion system, but it is not done through items anymore and no level reset. You max at 30. So, if you want, you could literally cheese the game by save scumming to get level up stats that you want. The story is still top notch and the game throws some loops out there for sure. Definitely going in my favorites along with the 1st.

One of the best "fire emblem" games for me. The battle system is well balanced. The more forgiving saves definitely reduce the tension and rage quits. The story is tailored to the right length and depth. There is one bug causing game crash, but it's easy to find the solution in the forum: when swapping item between characters, make sure both characters have an actual item selected. If one of them uses a empty slot, the system crashes. Should be a simple fix, TBH.

amazing. Kaga has done it again! VS II takes everything VS I did right and builds upon it. Better written characters, more satisfying battles, and even an easier to follow plot, all while keeping what makes a kaga game, "a kaga game". The game oozes personality and charm, and while being quite challenging if you are new to the SRPG genre, the removal of the 5-turn save system makes the game a lot easier overall. All-in-all, I wholeheartedly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys SRPGs or is wanting to try out a Kaga game (of course, start with VS I). Can't wait for VS III!
