It's very impressive from a presentation perspective, but that is really all the good I can say about this. If you LOVED 'Thirty Flights of Loving' then you will probably like what they are going for here, but I personally feel TFoL did this concept much more effectively in much less time. Even compared to other 'walking sims' this is VERY light on actual gameplay. Your only input is 'click on the thing that makes the story advance'. There are no puzzles, no dialogue choices, no optional areas to explore, that is it. There are some obtuse things you can click on for alternate endings but it isn't really substantial content. The lack of dialogue and even much in game text leads to a story that is very hard to follow unless you are a big-brain super genius. Maybe I'm just too stupid to work this out but I don't usually struggle with abstract media to this extent, I can usually at least understand the themes or message of the work even if certain plot points are not clear. This just felt like a big old mess of 'things' that are presented to you. I don't think I'm meant to draw my own conclusions on what is happening as there is clearly a defined story being told, I just don't have en…
when i first started this game i thought about the x-files, when i finished this game... i thought about the x-files. if you're not into lynchian, symbolic and experimental media, i wouldn't bother with this game. if you don't enjoy a lack of dialogue, i wouldn't bother with this game. if you don't like point & click, walking simulators, i wouldn't bother with this game. however, if you like mystery, sci-fi, experimental and metamorphosing plot lines, do bother with this game, you will enjoy at least some of it. i had a lot of fun, it was very awesome sauce and i can't wait to 100% it soon!
don't pay for this game if you want to spend 10$ fund the zionist state of israel it's still better than to play this trash game
I do not recommend this game. I think the idea behind this game was a good one, but the budget and manpower that was needed to truly develop this game was not there. The game plays like the creators were trying to make it like an action adventure mystery game, maybe similar in some ways to LA Noir. What makes things worse is there is no dialogue between characters and it makes the storyline hard to follow. I had to read comments to understand what I was supposed to be doing. - Adding some dialogue and clear direction in what you are supposed to be doing would make the game much better. Developers for this game should work on adding those kinds of things into the game. Dialogue doesn't have to be much -- it could be all text dialogue. The Golden Idol game is very low-tech, like almost 80's low-tech, but it is much easier and more enjoyable to play because it actually has a much more clear direction, instructions, and dialogue between characters. Also you can read things at your own pace. You click to read something, then click again to close it. Again the idea behind this game was a really neat one and it would be nice to see the game fully developed.
cool
the music was really good. the story could have been interesting but it needed dialogue, more diverse looking characters or more exposition. there is very little in this game that should classify it as a "detective" game, and i think that's why i'm disappointed. it's possible i'm not clicking with it right now. i will probably come back at some point and replay, but for my first experience, i didn't love it.
