A very interesting 3D platformer here. The music is engaging and definitely sets the tone for the weirdness that ensures. The mechanics are extremely simple and easy to figure out (you collect the glowing ball and bring it to the lamp to reach the next level, of which there are 48 total). It was made by one man who coded the entire thing from the ground-up, so it's not going to be as well-polished as an AAA-game, obviously. But it's fun enough to keep you entertained for a while. Definitely a pick-up-and-play. Some levels can be tricky, so it feels good to beat them. I'd recommend that you try it. It's free after all, no loss to anyone.2 found this helpful
While its difficult to get used to the controls; its pretty fun once you know what you're doing. It reminds me of "only up!" and similar games, where you have difficult controls and a simple objective, I also like the minimalist aesthetic and the changing colours really show off how well the lighting works. Overall its a well made game, and a pretty fun experience, not to mention a pretty easy 100%.2 found this helpful

Unique take on 3D platformers, reminiscent of the golden PS1 era. Void islands is is a 3d platform puzzler, with a somber and trippy vibe in visuals and music. But the real twist is in the control scheme! The tank-like controls feel strange at first, but soon becomes second nature. After I finished all the levels I immediately started again to put into practice everything I had learnt, to find myself bounding through levels I previously struggled with. The game isn't perfect but in a lot of ways it adds to the charm. The very forgiving death system, in which you keep your progress from falling off the islands, mitigates any frustration and can even add strategy to the puzzles. There is a great array of levels with varying difficultly that have something unique to offer. Even though this game is already FREE the dev has added a free DLC in which the levels open up giving more freedom of movement. I can't wait to see more!
