✦ AI summary

Players appreciate the game's solid combat mechanics, weapon variety, and local co-op potential, with most finding the core experience enjoyable for a single playthrough of around 8 hours. However, common complaints center on the repetitive level design, tedious turret-focused gameplay, uninspired boss fights, and a confusing loadout system that lacks a bestiary to help players understand enemy matchups, ultimately making the experience feel more tedious than engaging for extended play.

I found the game enjoyable, only took a little over 8 hours to clear adventure mode. Also going to play through some of the rogue mode in local co-op next.

Game is too annoying to be fun, loadout system is straight garbage, boss fights are tedious, some of the levels just make me want to tear my hair out. Combined with no bestiary and all the enemies feeling the same leads to frustration with choosing the correct loadout each time because some weapons will do basically no damage to the enemies. The levels all feel the same, basically the gunplay/combat is supposed to be the highlight of this game and it just falls so flat. The turrets especially are touted as being the big thing, but they're all so tedious to operate and so annoying. At this point I'm forcing myself to play because I'm over the 2 hour mark, the game was sorta fun for the first bit but now it's pure tedium and one annoyance after the other. Not to mention the story is so uninspired and uninteresting, it's like the game had so much potential but squanders it all

I liked it. It has good and bad sides. I think it is enough of a starting point to further expand in a sequel. Not a single issue during my playthrough. Played it shamelessly on easier difficulty because I don't like sweating too much with video games. Enemies were fun to play against. Best map is the first map, which is tragic. Most maps feel pathetically small and uninspired, with extremely minimalistic details, that don't give any tangible identity for the place you are supposed to be in. Weapons have decent variety and are generally fun to use. Overreliance on the turrets as a mob clearer kinda constrains the gameplay but if you like playing the turret guy in games, you will like it. Loadout system also feels a bit constraining but still adds a spice to the gameplay that makes you want to plan properly for the missions. Not having a way to track the collected lore texts in the base is a crime. I have no idea what the lore is because I read about the lore in bases / lobbies :D Some items are invaluable, while some are absolutely useless and I don't even bother trying them, which is a waste of time for the dev. All items that you stumble on must have at least some min…

This game was fine and it worked fine, but I just didn't find it that fun. I think it needed some better enemy design, or better writing or something. Also found the bosses pretty uninspired. It absolutely works and is well made and does what it says on the tin. So if it looks really interesting to you I would get it. But it didn't quite hit with me and I have a million games, so I cannot recommend it.

This game desperately needs a bestiary/logbook of the different monsters. It's like the devs had blinders on and totally forgot that people don't have monsters memorized. Also someone is mentioning in the forums and updates that their saves do not work still and the devs haven't done anything about it.

6/10 Gets stale quite quickly and I feel no inclination to play through it again. But, it's solid enough and quite fun whilst it lasts but nothing ground breaking. Wait for a sale to be blunt.
