About 鉄道運転士VR
● Train Simulator VR is a VR game that you can operate train.
Even though trains are very familiar to us, almost all people have no chance to operate trains by themselves.
For that reason, not a few people seemingly wants to try such VR experiences.
Those who have wanted to operate a train from your childhood!
You can now sit and operate train in the motorman's cab that you have dreamed until now!
Let's have a VR experience in this chance!!
● Let's operate a train that makes you feel the Showa era!
Current Japanese train maneuvering is the lever type, but in the past trains were operated with a mas-con handle and a brake lever. Its operation seems to be complicated, but as you repeat playing, it will lead to the "fun" inherent in railroad games.
(Showa is the era of Japan and refers to the period from December 25, 1926 to January 7, 1989)
● Always fun no matter how many times you play!!
Since it is a good old-fashioned operation method, it takes a lot of time to run a train.
First, place your "right hand" on the brake lever and pull the trigger of the controller in your right hand. You can grab the lever, so turn it clockwise.
Next, place your "left hand" on the mas-con handle on the left side of the screen and pull the trigger of the controller in your left hand. Grab the handle and turn it clockwise to run the train.
When you get used to these operations, you should feel exactly "operating a train". The feeling of immersion increases every time you play.
● Thrilling incidents occur one after another!
While the train is running, you will be prompted to "lose speed to 35km/h" or "stop by the signal!" on the screen.
At that time, release your hand from the mas-con handle, then grab the brake lever and turn it counterclockwise to decelerate and stop.
● We will not arrive at tomorrow just by running
The event which is indispensable for railway VR game is "to stop at stations".
A green line and a red line are drawn at the back of the platform. The green line corresponds with "distance to go", and you have to stop the train at the point of zero distance to the line.
This is the railway VR game that purely expresses the element of "hard but can't stop" that the current game industry has forgotten.

Its a funny little game. I love simulator games, even the japanese sims like Densha de go. And even if you dont speak japanese it is simple to understand and its fun. There is also a small guide in english on pdf.. Too sad it is a little bit too short. You only get 2 trains and 3 small 1 Station Routes. So i bought it while sale. I want to see more. Update: A new Stage was coming after the last update.7 found this helpful
Update September 18, 2018. Well, I saw this game on sale and I read somebody having problems with the Oculus with this game. So I tried to play the game again and, unfortunately, it seems the dev broke the game. I don't know if it's just broken on Oculus or not. Maybe it works on the Vive. Long story short, don't buy this game until this issue has been resolved. Until then, I am changing my review to negative.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers
If you're worried about this game being in Japanese, no need to worry. You can play just fine. Almost everything is in English except for the title and a sticker I saw on the train. All the other menus and prompts were in English. Operation is easy. There's nothing complex. There are currently 2 train models and 3 tracks out of the box (4 tracks but one of them is bugged I think or locked - there may even be a 5th, the dev wrote something about it). I hestitate to even say this is a game. This is more like a short cinematic experince with limited interactions. So you can generally hit the gas/coal/whatever and hit the brakes. You can also switch the train to reverse. The tracks are of varying length. The s…2 found this helpful
I can't start the game after picking up the picture, is there anyone that can help?1 found this helpful
Train Simulator VR is a brief, patchy but intriguing use of the VR format. I've always been a fan of train simulators, so the prospect of being able to drive one in 1st person in Japan was something that was right up my alley. There are however a few issues with the game that so far have limiooted my enjoyment: 1) The controls. To maintain train speed you're forced to keepp your left hang gripped an dheld in a very specific position for a few minutes while you go from station to station. Simply put, that really hurts and detracts from the experience. If there's a way around this, I couldn't find it. 2) Textures/Landscapes are underdeveloped at best or bland at worst. It's very much 'tech demo stage' and while the ideas are there for the various locales, it hasn't been developed enough to make a fully enjoyable and realized experience. 3) One map literally doesn't work. You spawn in midair with no train or track anywhere near you. This is the 3rd choice you have out of 4 but the others work fine. This should either be removed until finished or patched ASAP. I do like the concept though, it's a fun idea and the seeds of a good game are present, but a lot more development is n…1 found this helpful
In the demo version there is all right, but in full version there is a very angry bug! I cannot start the map, because then I chose the photograph, nothing... Please fix it! I use VR-helmet HTC Vive Cosmos.
