"Wacktory" is one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. It's from UCSC Games in California. This is the result of an academic exercise for students. It's not a full, complete game in the way professionally developed products are. While it has more quality than most amateur games, it's not a complete gaming experience. Student projects have limited value for gamers because they're not fully developed games, just barely functional demos that show the students progress. Steam is not a place for for-profit colleges to dump student homework assignments... and having thousands of these is not good for gamers. The students made a complex 3 player co-op game where one person puts on a VR helmet and the other two don't. The person with the hat on directs the other two players to do menial box moving labour based on orders that they get in their VR helmet. Yes, this isn't really a great idea at all, which is part of the reason it failed on Steam Direct. On the important subject of visuals, this features fairly low quality stylised/cartoony low poly 3D graphics. Графика яркая и мультяшная, что отлично сочетается с абсурдностью происходящего на экране. Игровой процесс затягивает своей простотой и необходимостью быстро принимать решения. Нужно постоянно следить за конвейерными лентами, вовремя модернизировать оборудование и нанимать работников, чтобы избежать катастрофических поломок и провалов. Юмор в игре – одна из самых сильных сторон. Описание товаров, реплики персонажей и абсурдные ситуации заставляют улыбаться на протяжении всей игры. Разнообразие улучшений и производственных цепочек позволяет экспериментировать и находить наиболее эффективные стратегии, а сложность постепенно возрастает, требуя от игрока все большей внимательности и быстроты реакции. Несмотря на свою простоту, игра обладает неплохой реиграбельностью, ведь всегда есть возможность улучшить свой результат, открыть новые виды продукции или просто насладиться безумным процессом производства.
